SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Southeast Asian ride-hailing and payments firm Grab said on Tuesday it would lay off more than 300 employees due to the impact of novel coronavirus, in the latest setback to major backer SoftBank Group Corp (9984.T).

Phone users warned of spike in criminals requesting OTPs

The massive growth in online transactions, especially during the Covid-19 crisis, has brought a spike in the number of scams to deceive customers into revealing their one-time passwords (OTP), telecoms giant Advanced Info Services (AIS) warned on Tuesday.

Internet Archive's massive free e-book library shuttered amid copyright lawsuit

In effort to make it easier for educators and students to access books during the pandemic, the Internet Archive launched its National Emergency Library back in March of this year with 1.3m books available for checkout, free of charge.

NEW DELHI/BEIJING (Reuters) - Three Indian soldiers were killed in a “violent faceoff” with Chinese troops on the disputed border, the Indian Army said on Tuesday, reporting the first casualties in 53 years to result from a clash between the nuclear-armed neighbours.

Steroid dexamethasone reduces deaths among patients with severe COVID-19 - trial shows

LONDON (Reuters) - Giving low doses of the generic steroid drug dexamethasone to patients admitted to hospital with COVID-19 reduced death rates by around a third among those with the most severe cases of infection, trial data showed on Tuesday.

Ministry ‘sorry’ for hit-and-run incident, vows to punish driver

Once the clip of an official, flag-bearing government vehicle hitting and pushing a car off the road on Monday (June 15) went viral, the Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry’s permanent secretary issued an apology on Tuesday saying the driver will be questioned and reprimanded for his action.
