Ubc Woes

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've just got back from a three-week trip, turned on the TV and .... hmm, only three (Thai) channels are broadcasting - the others on my platinum service say "scrambled service". Whassup? Did I forget to pay the bill (can't be, I paid a year in advance about six months ago, I think). Bad karma?

Taking out the powercord and plugging in sometimes works.

If that fails you'll have to call customer support. Most probably your receiver was off (unplugged from the mains) during your absence, resulting in your smartcard not being updated regularly.

UBC will have to reset at their side and then will let you do the reset routine again...

Thanks monty and DrFisher.

I unplugged and replugged - no change and then I called UBC. In about two minutes I was up and running. Unfortunately running means Larry King Live. Ha ha.

Thanks again, guys.
