Yes, Boris Johnson fantasy of a "golden age" is just an embarassment to him now.

The dream of a stand-alone Britain could yet end up to be a nightmare. The cold divorce bill is still being negotiated with Europe. The debt mountain now taken on will be borne by generations to come.

What golden age?

Another that uses a.............

There are many people with left wing, or right wing views on TV (And all points in between). Everyone is entitled to their opinions and to debate them here within the rules.

No left winger minds being called a lefty, and presumably right wingers would be happy to called "Rightys".

However to you describing some person or opinion as being "lefty" appears to be the ultimate insult. Might it be a good idea to make an intelligent reasoned adult critique of another posters views if you disagree with them, and not resort to childish name calling.

It is not name calling, it is my observation.

I do not see a problem pointing it out as I am called a Brexiteer, which I think is OK because I am, the same as socialists that post here are lefty's...????

The sad fantasy that "We've got the march on them", "Our Boris is playing a blinder" etc, persists against all the evidence. The EU no longer believe that the UK is serious about the negotiations, and see a hard Brexit as the likely outcome.

"For some weeks the British government has been planning a “shock and awe” campaign to warn British businesses that they have less than six months to prepare for Brexit; but the EU has beaten them to it."

It is and interesting article which lays out in some detail exactly how much we will lose, not comfortable reading unfortunately.

Anthony Robinson, now retired after a long career representing several European manufacturers in the UK.

Obviously a remainer and now spends most of his time gathering as much fake muck as he can to try and stick on the UK Government. He is also interested in politics (much), although not as an active party member (right), and enjoys reading, gardening and diy.

Yes, I feel bad for my British friends who will continue to come to Spain, France, Germany...some of the "soft" advantages of being in the EU will the most sorely missed. Having to queue with third country nationals and no longer being able to use the fast EU lane on trips, how annoying that will be for Brits.

Not to mention the business owners who, on top of Covid19, now have to deal with all the upheaval of the new post EU regime.

What a shambles for Britain.

No fast track? Scare blue.

A pragmatic view then. But there are those on the extreme far right spectrum who actually prefer a "no-deal" outcome. Purely because they literally want to stand alone, have nothing to do with the EU and just have the divorce from Europe as soon as possible.

Regardless of the obvious negative economic consequences for the UK if a no-deal outcome happens.

Well, look on the bright side, there are actually very few on the extreme far right so they won't count for much.

What is your view on the economic outlook for the UK?

Brexit is poison - it will never deliver what it promised, even now the brexiters are turning against the brexit they voted for last year.

Weren't we told somewhat similar just before an election but the Brexiteers won by a landslide.

"Could, not "Would"....?   ????

But even 'could' was a lie - not that it should surprise anyone that a leading member of the Nasty party is an inveterate liar.
