Private Hospital Costs Skyrocketing in Chiang Mai/Thailand?

Featured Replies

Just had surgery from on of the best specialists in continent, at ram. 32k all inclusive + got me platinum 20% discount. Cheap as fk.

If I did do a night stay on top, it been more. ICU same. Scepsis is very serious too. What you describe sounds very reasonable, she could have died.

Saved much more than this amount on additional insurance fees over past 9 years, would been like 3k baht monthly more.

I would been covered for ypur girlfriends thing tho. (And usual cheaper places actually quoted me 20k more for the same, depend so much what you need).

  • No private hospital costs less. For ICU care in a private Thai hospital this bill is if anything low.   Your prior experiebces with this hospital likely did not entail ICU care.

Pass.

Would point out Sepsis does leave you open to sudden collapse/relapse after treatment (50% chance in the next year).

My pal was released from hospital after having it, and was unconscious for 3 days in his apartment the next week before being found. He was suffering from AIDs, Sepsis is a common end game of AIDs.

There are 2 problems - the high hospital bill and the reaction of this lady.

I can understand your feelings and I would feel the same. Talk to her and try to find out if it makes sense to do anything for her again. If not then never do it again. You have no obligation.

This lady is hard to talk to and is always right and does what she wants. We talked in hospital and she was going to come stay with me for awhile as she is hopeless at remembering to take her medicines and appointments, but soon as out her words lost and she goes back to her room and doesn't check her messages i sent even after only 1 hour of her getting back to her room. She has a follow up appointment including blood tests this morning but i bet she doesn't go.

My ex is not much better. And she never listens to anyone and is never ever guilty. Perhaps this is the Asian mentality. But in the end if I really need her she helps me. And because she has a car she is even more important to me.
