Finding The Perfect Wife.

There, I got your attention. Ive noticed so many posts are directly or indirectly related to problems the farang has with a Thai woman. Bernard Trink hit the nail on the head in one of his articles a few years back. He said many farangs come to Thailand on holiday with no knowledge of the language or culture, they spend all thier time in bars and whore houses and when they go home, they complain they didnt meet even one decent girl in Thailand.

Well, most farangs, myself included, are not exactly Tom Cruise or Mel Gibson look-a-likes, so what makes them think they can snag a beautiful, young Thai girl with a kick-ass body? Granted, most anyone can go to Pattaya and in a few hours be doing the horizontal tango with a dream come true and even be married with-in a week. But you sure wont know much about her other than what shes like in bed.

Any half way intelligent man wouldnt marry some girl he just met in a bar and screwed her the first night back home, so why should he do it here?

We've all seen the old bastards walking hand in hand with the most gorgeous young thing you've ever laid eyes on. Did you notice the blank stares on thier faces? It really warms my heart when I see a farang with a rather plump, not too attractive and conservatively dressed Thai girl and they both have a smile on thier face.

Its a matter of preferance, I suppose. Are you just looking for a girl for sex or to show off to your friends? Or, are you looking for someone to share your life with and with whom you have things in common?

There are alot of nice girls in Thailand. Unfortunately, they arnt all in one place with a big sign pointing them out. So, finding a soulmate during a 2 week holiday is pretty much out of the question.

I know we farangs are an impatient lot, but finding a wife is something we should do carefully and intelligently. The Thai women are so charming and beautiful, we can be blinded by it. There are so many beautiful girls in the bars we are drawn to them automatically.

We may not even see the perfect girl right in front of us. Maybe she's the waitress at our favorite restaurant or a co-worker or the policewoman we say hello to every morning.

I have a wife (25 years now) and I plan on keeping her. Having lived in Thailand for some time now, Ive had the chance to meet alot of people from all walks of life, so I know there are plenty of women out there that are honest, decent, hard working and I think they would make a great wife and partner for any man.

Finding a wife isnt something we should take lightly. Use your head, have patience and keep your expectations real.

The other part of your post I fully agree. And when you are 25 - 30 yo, you have all the time to wait and test.

A new wife with 60 is a differen story, you chose the one who is different from all the others, I mean the only one who wants to go with you.

A few Baht of gold, a nicer little house for the wedding...
