Testing means testing those that want to be tested and not just those who are repatriated or appear to be sick Yinn.  Opening up testing locations in all provinces, doing anti-body checks and following those that are just asymptomatic....

 

However, I have just gone off topic and apologize to the OP.

 

China needs to explain in more details as to the reasoning behind the suspension of flights for the two airlines as the OP indicates.  It will be interesting to see the actual details as to why!

A friend of mine with a temperature of 38.5 and a cough and went to a Government Hospital. He was given codeine and told to sign a form confirming that he didn't have covid19. He wasn't given a covid19 test! How would he know that he didn't have covid19. The hospital explained that they had no test kits available.

A couple of facts concerning transit flighT's.   Years ago I was travelling from Swampy by Air France plane to Phnom Penh. The flight originated in Paris.  People got off for Thailand but quite a few stayed on board to go to Phnom Penh.  Maybe they were told to stay on board???  Contrast that with Jetstar flights through Singapore where everyone got off,  walked all the way around the terminal to the Bangkok bound connect.  Some may have gone to other destinations but a lot from my flight were heading to Bangkok.  Wandering into cafes and duty free shop....

Your link to 'the real story' quotes anonymous sources at the two airlines. Passengers did not get off the aircraft and did not come into the terminal building" [the pedant in me would add that it's a bit pointless to say they didn't come into the building, if also saying they didn't get off the plane].

 

For some reason, though, flight tracker web sites show this flight XJ808 as originating in Bangkok. This flight seems to have been a new addition to the AirAsiaX schedule in May 2019:

 

"Thai AirAsia X from May 2019 is adding new route to China, which sees the launch of Bangkok Don Mueang – Tianjin service. From 03MAY19, Airbus A330-300 aircraft will operate this route 3 times a week (Day 245), increasing to 4 weekly from 02JUN19.

"XJ" is the IATA code for Thai AirAsia X. More to the point, XJ808 was operated on 10 July 2020 by a Thai-registered A330, HS-XTE. If an aircraft is on the Thai CAA Register it is based in Thailand and the crew will be a Thai crew (unless there's an expat pilot).

 

That aircraft is showing as having indeed come from KL the same day ... but after flying there from Bangkok. It then appears to have sat around at Don Mueang before the flight to/from Tianjin.

It may be it flew to KL to pick up passengers who did not de-plane in Bangkok, and did not pick up any more passengers in Bangkok, but the flight crew presumably are all Thailand-based and have now been exposed to infected people.

No detections is only meaningful if it includes testing data numbers and that includes both the living population and those that have died - the daily covid report they keep publishing is quite frankly useless and meaningless

Yinn my father in law in Thailand had all the symptoms for covid and ended up dying after weeks in hospital, yet they refused to test him for it. Even to rule it out. So stop with the BS

 

Thailand is ranked 138th for covid testing per 1mil population
