Cloazepam

Does any one know the reason this generic medicine suddenly changed to prescription only. I have been buying over the counter for control of tremors due to Parkinson's disease for the past 3 yrs. 7 weeks ago I bought some without problem but when I went to my regular pharmacy with my laundry list of meds yesterday I was told that Rivotril / Povanil was now prescription only.

Was it you usual server, or a new staff member that couldn't be bothered and just fed you a line?

probably means the illegal supply has come to an end
as it has always been prescription only and from hospital only

you cannot legally buy that OTC here.

Clonazepam has always been perscription. There were/are some pharmacies where you can get it but its not legal.

It always has been.  It's a benzodiazepine and benzos are prescription only.  Remember, TIT.  Pharmacies in the past that may not have followed the letter of the law seem to be getting on board with regulations.  Perhaps enforcement is getting stricter.

Thanks for the replies and the info. I'll be seeing my neurologist Sunday for a regular checkup. Hope he'll give me a script for 6 mo. supply that I can use at my pharmacy and not just in his clinic.

It was the owner. I also checked with an online pharmacy (Bangkok Drug Store) and they said they couldn't sell it.
