One of the joys, or horrors, of living in the tropics... all 2 metres of it!

I hope it ran loose and didn't end up in a cook pot.

I once had a face to face encounter with a large rearing King Cobra at  not more than  2 metres  distance.

They're still trying to free it from the netting. It got tangled up in it. It'll be released.

It was a formulation mistake. I should have written "untangle" it. Supposedly it'll be released.

Just heard it's being donated to the local zoo. Can't decide what's worse for the poor critter: to end its life kept in captivity or on the BBQ.

I agree, but in all fairness, there are young toddlers around there too. Better to be safe than sorry I suppose.

The standard practice country wide is generally to release it somewhere out of town, but I suppose there will always be exceptions to the rule. Most local rescue services have a decent standard keeping these critters unharmed.

Of the times I've eaten snake, they cooked them in something so spicy that you can't actually taste the meat.

Although I'm quite cautious around these creatures, yes, some of them are absolutely stunning! The patterns, vivid colours and agility with which they move really are testaments to the wonders of mother nature.

Since moving here 10 years ago, I've gone from being absolutely scared s..tless of them, to finding them truely fascinating creatures.

They made it to the Everglades and farther. Thailand's a stroll away.

Well, since it came from Burma if has to go trough state quarantine for a couple of weeks. And to add insult to injury it wasn't even wearing a mask.

Burmese Python is native to a large area of SE Asia, including all of Thailand.

are there ugly ones?

is a reticulated real aggressive?  I'm sure those bites can hurt and 2 meters maybe a fight.  amd serious infection from the bite is probably common.
