Crossy
Following on from my previous thread here :- https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1173283-legalisation-of-uk-marriage-certificate-for-use-in-thailand-any-uk-agents-recommended/ My friend, who it turns out is as useless as he says his UK family are, will need an agent in Bangkok to translate and legalise at the MoFA his marriage certificate from the UK. The process is here http://www.consular.go.th/main/th/services/6441/71860-ขั้นตอนการรับรองนิติกรณ์เอกสาร---Legalization-Proc.html but since he needs the translations as well a one-stop service would be nice. Anyone got a recommended agent?
taxout
A U.K. document to be used in Thailand should be legalised in the U.K. at the Thai embassy or consulate. You'd only involve the MFA in Bangkok if you need to further authenticate the signature of the Thai consular official in the U.K. (The translation should be done in the U.K. before handing it to the Thai embassy/consulate. Whether you then need to have the consular official's signature further authenticated by the MFA in Bangkok is optional, but at the option of the Thai government office where you file the document: they could ask for it.) Tanoshi
He doesn't need an agent, that's just extra cost. I can recommend Express Translation Services, 866 Phloen Chit Rd, Lumphini, Pathum Wan District, Bangkok 10330 Phone: 02 255 5422 (English speaking). They can do the translation, have it legalised at the MFA and return it EMS to his home address. A point not mentioned Crossy, but he should check whether the Amphoe where he intends to register his overseas marriage also want a 'certified' and translated copy of his UK Passport legalised by the MFA. In that case, I suggest he make an appointment at the British Embassy for the certification, then take that certified copy and his UK legalised marriage certificate to the translation office on the 2nd floor of the MFA, then upstairs to the Consular section of the MFA, who can return everything by EMS. He can get the certification, translations and leave it with the MFA within a few hours. Edited July 20, 2020 by Tanoshi

For that the marriage certificate and legalization must be translated to Thai and certified by the Department of Consular Affairs of the MFA.
