Pls recommend medicine for gum pain

Featured Replies

I have gum disease due to tartar buildup, for which the dentist has just done scaling and cleaning and given me antibiotics and antiseptic mouthwash. I'm taking ibuprofen but can't take that all the time. The pain is constant and wakes me up at night. Dentist says it should subside in 1-2 weeks. Meantime, has anyone found anything in pharmacies in Bangkok, maybe gels or ointments, that would relieve the pain?

so you are after an Lignocaine/Benzocaine styled gel?

i.e.Oral-Eze definitely numbs the area, even better than swishing mouth with neat Mekhong

'Numit' is pretty good too.

Sounds like you need the Dentist to refer you to a Periodontist.

If it's under the teeth, it won't be 'going away' by itself

Benodryl liquid form. The pink stuff.

That is what folks use with new babies when they are teething.

Wipe it on your gums and it will numb them.

Get some Clove Oil, it tastes bad but it should do the trick.

It numbs and is an anaesthetic which is what you want.

That would be the reason for scaling.  Appears it has been done and now awaiting healing process.
