Police in Sattahip were called after a good Samaritan saw a drunk motorcyclist veer off into the central reservation on Sukhumvit Road near the Chumphon Navy School in Bang Saray in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The cops found the front of a Honda Wave smashed in and a Thai man aged about 30 lying on the ground slightly hurt.

He was very drunk and had been vomiting.

They tried for 30 minutes to revive him without success and so they decided to drag him off to the police station to let him sleep it off and contact relatives to come and pick him up.

It was unclear whether he would face DUI charges.

Sanoh, 66, said he was on his way to Sattahip (around 5 am) when he saw the man on the motorcycle in front veer off into the central reservation. He looked like he had decided to go there and sleep off his drinking bout.

Sanoh called the police to take him away to sleep it off elsewhere.

Wouldn't it have been easier to chuck him in the back of the pickup .. I mean it's quite tiring dragging someone especially when they are in the state he is ..

There is no evidence he was drink driving. He could have started drinking in the field only after the crash, supposedely it was really him who crashed. I doubt testimonies claiming someone is drunk have value in court, at least not in civilized countries...

Cannot see any empty bottles around him, and there was a

witness who saw him veer off the road.

agree while in that state, he could have killed some poor sod. No care for anyone else on the road whatsoever.

Any other country he would have woken up in a police cell greeted with a 9am appointment in a court room

Veering off the road is no evidence for DUI. No bottles around? But also no evidence of him throwing them into some klong around there. So we don't know.

I don't defend him, just picking on details without taking stance. Things often seem obvious but could lack integrity with a good lawyer. (Thinking of some hi-so case as well)

This is why a Dash Cam is essential when driving a car or riding a motorcycle....

There are too many idiots around who would kill themselves on the front of your vehicle in such a state (when you are in a car).

OR cause you to swerve and take action when on a motorcycle.

Of course after he crashes his bike, he starts drinking to a drunkard state just to pass the time...

and the London bridge will be relocated to the possession of Mak Mak...

You seem to think he's innocent, maybe you should be his lawyer,

you have all the facts to prove without doubt he is innocent...

But was it him drunk? Maybe the drunk man had been hit by the motorcycle? Just may be?

It was unclear whether he would face DUI charges.

He got someone who was completely sober to drive him home. That person had an accident and ran off leaving the drunk guy in the field.

Please disperse....nothing to see here.
