Yeah and pigs will fly as long as the stupid rules are kept in place to allow travel into Thailand. I am 73 and $100,000 of health insurance would cost 124,000 baht plus 30,000 baht minimum for 2 week

Wow this person must be a fortune teller with that prediction. But then again with that statement his credibility is questionable. I guess he must be after a job at the TAT.

What do you expect? What would happen if you have a heart attack and have to go into a hospital. A few days, an operation or two, and that cost real money. Do you have that money ready? And if no

Covid 19, is not the issue its an excuse for the government to take away the freedom of Thailand.

Lucky for Thailand the students are aware and are doing soft protests to make some change, the students are far better educated and many of then can speak the international language unlike the leader of the country! A well known saying softly softly catchy Monkey!

Where do you go for holiday?

To places which you know and you like(d)?

Or to new places which might be interesting?

Obviously it's nice to discover new places. But I am sure many will remember their good times in Thailand and return - eventually.

I will be going back as soon as the quarantine arrangements are lifted as I have a Thai wife but why do I need to go into a hotel when I could go straight to her home in Isaan? Someone is making money out of this, hotel, plus 2 COVID tests at 7000thb each for no real reason.

They started blaming the migrant workers yesterday as they cannot blame farang ????

Also it would be interesting to see how many people %age wise have actually been tested in Thailand especially outside of Bangkok !

And hopefully to jail for a long time for all the damage he has done.

I guess he’s referring to local tourism, not international

Sounds like you can set your watch by the rain.

Actually you can obtain the required health insurance for 15,000 Thai baht up to age 75 in Thailand.

Who will check that you quarantine alone at home? Who will check that you don't kiss your wife or take her in your arms? And the next days she goes out and meets other people...

Too many people were supposed to quarantine but didn't do that 100%. That's why there is an official quarantine.

Isn't that obvious?

While some countries are starting to open up I predict that as newer cheaper treatments and faster more reliable tests are developed it will accelerate and those countries who are not opening or have draconian requirements will realize the tourist revenue that they have lost.  Then and only then Will countries like Thailand lower their bar for tourists.  The problem is, it could be too late and they may never recover to the tourist levels they once enjoyed.  I mean Thailand is certainly not the great bargain it was twenty years ago anyhow.  I don’t think the Thai government has realized the economic disaster that will soon envelope their country and it is sure to only worsen especially if they don’t radically change their long range strategic plan.  If they have one.

More hot air spewing from "The Nation", do they seriously think people have the finances to travel to Thailand after all this mess is cleared away lol, bunch of <deleted> dreamers just like the Thai government........

"Karn added that most locals will prefer to travel within the country instead of going overseas after international skies open due to their concerns about Covid-19."

That same prediction may very well hold true for people in their own country.  Due to fears of air travel many people might choose instead to spend their holidays in their own countries.  They would then be giving Thailand and other nearby countries a miss.

No need to predict..... Even a child knows if Covid-19 ends, Tourists will return.

But not nescessarily in large numbers. This virus has decimated economies all over the world and people  may not have the money to travel long  distances for vacations for several years.

It's easy to understand that you want to come here. But look at it from the Thai point of view. What is the advantage for Thailand to let you in without insurance and maybe without quarantine?

I wouldn't want Thailand to Pay for my Medical CostsI wouldn't go  without Insurance ,Just an Insurance that's available for a Decent Premium.    Not the Big No need rip off ones they've got going now.

The Quarantine is an extra cost but one has to if one Has to travel.

They live in hope!

Most travel insurances are not expensive. But they only cover emergency expenses for travelers. They are not for people who want to live in a foreign country.

As soon as quite possibly never then. There's no guarantee that the coronavirus will be eradicated completely anytime soon (or ever).

who has money if so many lost their livelyhood ?

Credible predictions are generally based on past experience, known factors, impartial research and a reliable model that does not rely on human quesswork. Otherwise it is little more than fortunetelling based on hopes and wishes.

Tomorrow's headline: "Travel Agent Closes Business and Tries Stand-Up Comedy"

Why do these uneducated people not do the simple thing like reading the internation press BEFORE writing fake news, that only makes the public deride what they spout.  Can only be LOS!

I cant see the future but according to this Tourist agent Foreign  tourists will come back once the Corivirus  has finished or a cure found

Looks like he is not going to see many Foreigners for a lot of years

That agent must be related to the TAT boss. He also forgot to say when the Covid-19 crisis will be resolved.

The sooner everyone realises there will be no international tourism probably before 2022 earliest the better and get on with their lives.
