PM orders body of key witness in “Boss” to be kept for further examination

Jaruchart.jpg

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered the body of Mr. Jaruchart Mardthong, a deceased key witness in the Red Bull heir hit-and-run case, to be kept for further examination to determine the exact cause of the death.

Ms. Traisulee Traisoranakul, Deputy Government Spokesperson, said on Sunday that the Prime Minister wants to clear any public suspicion about Mr. Jaruchart’s death, but he will not interfere with course of justice.

She said that the Prime Minister has attached importance to the hit-and-run case and public suspicion over the decision of the Office of the Attorney-General (OAG) to drop the case against suspect, Mr. Vorayuth Yoovidhya, heir to the Red Bull empire.

Compete government honesty and incorruptibility....along with total respect for the course of justice have always been high priorities for Democratic Thailand.

The people, as always, place complete trust in the General...and know that he invariably has sound reasons for having the dead arrested.

Best statement he has ever made. An independent autopsy. The video clearly shows him driving straight and something caused him to collapse and the empty bike hitting the median.

Hold onto him, he might still be usefull as  a dead friend or something, worked for gen rolex

very strange, now they are saying he died after colliding with another bike,  looking back at the video there does appear to be another bike behind him but this is not what they were saying originally. Maybe the pm realizes there is going to be a lot of people getting pretty irate over boss having the arrest warrants pulled so he is making sure it doesnt catch him as well especially with his and his govts popularity plumetting, might even mean boss remains wanted hopefully, only time will tell

Statement by the cleaner of the building: I was dusting the body when it spontaneously burst into flames. By the time I'd been to get a fire extinguisher, I got back it was already a pile of ashes.

PM orders autopsy after witness in Vorayuth hit-and-run case killed in 'accident'

By The Nation

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha, has ordered an autopsy after Jaruchat Madthong, a key witness in the high-profile hit-and-run case allegedly involving Vorayuth "Boss" Yoovidhya, was killed in a motorcycle accident, Deputy Government Spokeswoman Traisuree Taisaranakul said on Sunday.

The prime minister has vowed to pursue justice in the case and punish any officer who has committed an offence, Traisuree said.

Saman and Ta Wang-Moon, the adoptive parents of Jaruchat, were contacted by government officials. The couple agreed to release the body for the post-mortem, but requested the completion of religious ceremonies being held on Sunday.

Jaruchat was killed in a motorcycle accident in the early hours of Thursday. Somchai Tavino, 50, who was involved in the fatal crash with Jaruchat, told Chiang Mai police that he did not know the deceased before.

However, police study of CCTV footage showed on Saturday (Aug 1) that the two had met before the bike accident occurred. Police then summoned Somchai to question him again.

On being confronted by the evidence, Somchai revealed that they had met at a liquor shop and persuaded each other to continue drinking at another shop, before they rode away on their motorcycles. Somchai claimed that he had misinformed the police initially as he was drunk.

Chiang Rai native Jaruchat was one of two key witnesses in the case against Vorayuth. Jaruchat had testified that the Ferrari was travelling at around 50-60kph when his car crashed into a bike ridden by a policeman, causing his death.

I think there are probably more BIB that despise the boy than there are big shots that persist in trying exonerating him.

If returning to Thailand, I would keep watching my back if I were him.

The prime minister has vowed to pursue justice yes he really did say that but not to his own front door I suspect ????

He may well have been a watch supplier.

No, the video show him running up the back of another bike and falling off, probably banging his head on the pavement and lying in the nearside lane. The bike that hit the median and the rider (who didn't die) trapped underneath it was the one he ran into the back of.

Interesting point; given the history of his case I wonder if he will ever come back to Thailand even if the cancellation of the charges does stand?

Does he need to come back to Thailand, he has homes, facilities, a multitude of resources and no limit on funds.

He's supposedly not involved in running the company. He must know that he's seriously disliked by the Thai public, and probably wouldn't expose himself to severe reactions if seen in public.

He doesn't need to shop or partake in any activities inside Thailand.

Why would he come to Thailand?

Thai PM orders deeper look into death of witness in Red Bull hit-and-run case

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's prime minister has ordered a second autopsy be conducted after the death of a key witness in a deadly hit-and-run case linked to the heir to the Red Bull energy drink fortune, amid public anger that the charges were dropped.

Jaruchart Mardthong, 40, died in what police said looked like a motorcycle accident on Thursday, amid public suspicion about the exact cause of his death.

Results of an initial autopsy have not yet been released. Local media said his family had planned to cremate the body on Sunday.

He was a key witness in the police investigation into Vorayuth "Boss" Yoovidhya, who was accused of killing a police officer in 2012, according to deputy government spokeswoman Traisulee Traisoranakul.

Police said last week that all charges against Vorayuth had been dropped, stirring public anger about the country's entrenched culture of impunity for the rich and well-connected.

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha wants to ensure justice and clear public suspicion over the case, Traisulee said in a statement on Sunday.

"The prime minister reiterates that the government will help create justice in the case. Any wrongdoers will be punished. This case will not be unresolved in the public's mind," she said.

Police said Jaruchart had died at hospital after crashing with another motorcycle driver, who was also injured but had left hospital.

Prayuth previously said a committee had been formed to look at what led to the case being dropped but it would not interfere in the work of the attorney-general, police and court. The committee has 30 days to complete its task.

Vorayuth had missed eight summonses to appear in court. He was accused of crashing his black Ferrari into policeman Wichien Klanprasert and dragging his body for dozens of metres before fleeing the scene. He was 27 at the time.

Authorities issued a warrant for his arrest five years after the incident and Vorayuth later left the country. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Police have said the old case against Vorayuth had officially ended and could only be relaunched if relatives of the victim filed the case directly to a court, or if there were new witnesses or evidence.

Will taking a 'deeper look' involve kissing a toad again, in order to gain that special insight?

Prayut promises his new Cabinet will only have capable people ...

Why waste money and energy because this is already enough in Thailand.

Will an autopsy reveal anything more than death as a result of massive trauma caused by a motorbike accident?  What is needed is a forensic investigation - who was the other rider? Has he had a change in finances?  Did he change his behavior before the accident? etc..
