I was extremely happy renting. So happy I spent 10 years working just to be able to rent for a few weeks each year. It only turned to <deleted> when I stupidly got married. I was deluded fool to do so.

I paid less for my rentals, ALL of them put together, than I lost in 2 proper relationships.

 

In LOS it's called the "Girlfriend Experience" as was pointed out in a tv show I saw about it some years ago.

My first long term rental lasted 4 years and the second 8 years. I DIDN'T pay them when I wasn't in LOS. At least I'm not that stupid.

The first got boring and the second married someone else- good luck to them wherever they may be now.

 

Did I love them- as much as they loved me ie not at all, but the sex was good, and they never said no.

Both were nice "girls next door" sort of people, and didn't fancy themselves as some sort of superior being just because they had female parts.

Do I miss them? I don't really think about them, except when something reminds me, like your post.

I do miss Thailand as it was back then, and think about it a lot.

 

However, like everything in life, everything ends. I doubt if I could recreate the experience now that the good ones are on line. Back then it wasn't all about money, and now it is, IMO.

Consider if you were married in the west and divorced after 2 years, or even not married, but just living together..

could that be classed as a "rental"?

 

Or even after 25 years and split up, the same result, you no longer have ownership.

So it seems rented to me.

 

Point is, in the west when the "rental" contract is up:

 

-you lose half your house (or all of it if kids are involved)

-you pay the former rental a % of your wage until all the kids are 18y.o.

 

and lets not forget:

-In Australia, the former rental can attack you for part % of your very own personal superannuation.

 YES. lol

 

 

So for a farang that visits Thailand and rents a few gf's:

 

-You dont even have to worry about trying to rip up the rental contract..there never was one!

-You can leave at any time and they cant attack you for all your sหit...

 

Im thinking its ok to keep throwing a little chump change, if and while you can afford it.

 

For all the times we moan about having no rights in Thailand,

When you think about it,

if you have had a live-in Thai GF for a few years, they really do have zero rights over us as compared to the west.

 

Of course i dont begrudge that, but at the same time it is a little sad,

for them.

There is no comparable rented "girlfriend experience" in NZ so I do not have female company at all. To have a girlfriend I'd have to find an old woman, and the reason I was living in LOS was so I didn't have to have an old woman as a GF.

There are legal brothels in NZ, but I was never into short time so they are out for me.

My experience is the best long time rental places are Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia.  

Like others have said, I do not like old ladies in my home country make me want to vomit big flapping elephant ear privates smell like Phemaldihyde..

But, when I go home I get unlimited internet with no blocked access to porn so it works fine for a month or so before I can get back here.
