Popular Post Gold Star Posted August 24, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 24, 2020 More industry??? There is barely enough water supply for the existing industry here in the EEC, and not enough left for public use. 67% goes to industry, and less than 22% for public consumption, while we are still on even/odd day rationing. Few can benefit from the new highway as there are only 3 access and exit points. Would be better spent on a fleet of submarines. 1 5
steve187 Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 the 331 junction on the s/b side was open at 2ish, they appeared to be removing the barrier at the Jomtein junction on the n/b side, s/b still closed off, i counted 30+ yellow motorway maintenance vehicles at the ban chang end 2

Not sure where you are, but I live in that area and our water supply has never faltered and never a sign of rationing. The Silver Lakes are brim full, as are all the other storage lakes in the Ban Chang /Maptaphut area.

Stay on Suk heading towards Sattahip. Just past the Ambassador - a huge hotel on your left & Mimosa, a Bavarian-themed shopping mall, the motorway entrance is on your left.

Jump on the very start of the 7 as if going to Suwanabhumi/Bangkok, go through the first toll and then just feed off to the right on the ramp shortly after. Generally an almost empty road but watch out for the workers ambling around at various points. 1
Sydebolle Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Well, he took the plane to U-Tapao - from Bangkok that is!
Rimmer Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Drove today from Ocean Marina entrance on Sukhumvit to Bang Chang interchange, very nice drive with few cars and a whole new perspective on the countryside. Toll booths are in operation and manned in so far as you collect the plastic card at one and give it in at the last one where you exit, no charge at the moment. There are several on/off slip roads and junctions, the main one would seem to be the 331 exit at Silver lakes. We noticed two others on the West / East link, one at Chak Neow and the other at Watt Yan, there is also one at Hue Yai, don't doubt there are many others. The Ban Chang end is not that well signed and what signs there are are too small. Amazingly there are U Turns all along the length of the road. 1 "Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast!"
