  • I think he deserves a residence permit. No harm to others. Makes money without taking Thai jobs. Really a great guy!

He has already made plans to come back as the Red Bull heir as that will guarantee him safely as it appears that virtually every body in Thailand has already received their brown envelope.

Rolling with the punches as they come in his new Role as a prisoner in IDC and soon to be Remand Prison.  All ripe for a new documentary film called "Escape from Remand" starring Sylvester Stallone as Prima.

Surely you're thinking of the Chinese submarines on order?

They will be long, hard, and full of seamen.

Dear God !!! All this for an overstay ? The media department must be the biggest funded dept. in the bureau . If they spent less time promoting themselves maybe they'd get more done

He is a villain. He's been illegally milking the system for years. He should have been jailed first

Never heard that movie stars and pop stars are very popular.

I wish the British immigration authorities were as diligent and as thorough in their course of work in seeking out overstayers and illegals.

It was also noted that he had an easy going personality and liked acting and was readily accepted into the Thai acting fraternity.

Wow. I believe I know this guy peripherally. He's not a bad guy, just broke, and ironically, since he was working in the movie business whatever money he made, he was paying taxes. Most likely it was the women who were helping him out since the movie business is dead now, and one of them dropped a dime on him. I believe his exploits are being exaggerated to make it appear that the popos were sleuths instead of it just being an irate ex making a call be the reason for his demise. Sad.

A scouting agent invited him to appear in Thai movies and soaps

When you get "invited" you don't need passports, visas, or work permits...

Police also like to "invite" criminal suspects, because no need for warrants, charges, lawyers...

One hilarious aspect to this, not uncovered by media sleuths.

I also used to appear in TV commercials here in Thailand.  Whenever an old white guy was needed for a role, the same group of 10-15 OWGs, (including me) would show up at the casting studio.  It was never really a question of acting or language skill for commercials...it was all about looking like the character already on the storyboard.

This guy was usually in the mix.  We chatted a few times but I have no recollection of ever knowing his name.

I do remember though that he once beat me out for a juicy, well paying part.

It was for the lead role...wait for this....in a commercial to play all over Asia......for THE TOURISM AUTHORITY OF THAILAND!

Yup...This now nefarious breaker of the laws of the Kingdom was once it's mouthpiece, luring Asians from 6 nations to come spend their money.

So much for gratitude.

Wow no helicopters? Anyway Looking at the photo I sincerely doubt this is a  foreigner friendly place suitable for overseas holiday makers.

"Initial investigations revealed that the suspect was bringing a string of Thai women back to his apartment. Each one was different to the last. Yet he didn't appear to have any work."

And I am certain that those "initial investigations" will have taken all of five minutes.

It is wise to always bear in mind as a foreigner living here that there are multiple eyes and ears on you all the time and then flapping tongues within your local Thai community, wherever that may be, a condo in a city or a house in the country. Wherever you walk, eat or shop, there will be little human CCTVs tuned in.

I remember when we moved to a new home in an area we did not know well. My wife asked our newfound house maid if any other farangs lived nearby. In a flash she got the lowdown on the one farang who lived 5km away. Everything about his lifestyle and habits was revealed in encyclopedic detail, including the reasons that his previous relationship had failed, his eating and drinking habits. The most laughable aspect of the description at the end was "He likes to keep himself to himself, doesn't go out much"!

Want to work in Thailand but avoid hassle of a work permit? Dodgy visa, or maybe no visa?

Become an actor! Just the ticket!

Seriously however, maybe cops should check with those film makers re work permits for this guy

Clowns, both side.

Like a soap opera!
