Trump defends accused Kenosha gunman, saying his life was likely in danger

Protesters are different from people who has criminal intent. Understanding them to be different will help a lot to addressing the crisis.

Unfortunately that is not possible because anarchist and Antifa terrorists have infiltrated the protests. And their whole strategy is to hide their identity. That is how they hope to avoid arrest by police for their criminal activity of violent destruction.

Since the police can not distinguish who is a protester and who is an anarchist terrorist they have a problem.

And they have another problem when the number of the mob greatly outnumbers police itself, which is why police opt not to arrest anarchists, even after they're identified, for fear of inciting a mob into violence.

It would clearly thus be preferable to curtail the protests in the first place.

Two wrongs don't make a right and neither parties are innocent in this. Him for being there in the first place with a deadly weapon strapped on and those that were looting and rioting. Point though is no 17 year old is mature enough to be in this situation in the first place and the road all of this is going down is going to see many, many more instances like this before it comes to an end.

High emotions and guns don't go well together.

Exactly! On top of it, he did not respect the rules. Everybody knows that when you play Rin Tin Tin you need a dog. There was no dog.

Show me some evidence of the police attacking law abiding peaceful protestors , law abiding as in not causing an obstruction or anything , standing there peacefully in a public park holding a placard

Or even better: outside of town, on an empty corn- field!

Because that is how "prpotest" works, right?

So you say there are anarchists antifa but they cant be identified.

Ergo, we dont know.

Bang that drum.

Anarchists. Marxists. Antifa. Terrorists.

For all the words you pour on these topics, you can't actually substantiate most of your claims.

So, Antifa is heavily involved, and yet proof of such involvement is hard to come by, because covfefe.

Your "knowledge" of law enforcement and intelligence work notwithstanding - identifying people, in this day and age, is way easier than it used to be. Also, the "clearly", and "preferable" way to curtail violence would have been to detain key operatives, disrupt activities and the like. If you think that USA authorities can't handle that, then have a look at how they handle such things abroad. Not too shabby, when they get to it.

Curtail protests. Delay elections. Only answer is strength. Sounds like something that Trump's "friends" leading less democratic countries would approve of.

Glad I live in the USA where we have a Freedom and a right to trail by our peers.  The truth will come out thru the judicial process, and justice is blind to any preconceived accusations or personal issues of accusers ????.  A lot of banana republics would rush to judgement based on a grainy cell phone video and hear-say.  Glad I do not live in one of those mud-holes.

But no issues when the Presidents doesn't wait for a trial on that one. Got to love the consistency.

Trump merely gave his opinion, as we all have done .

Many of us have the same opinion as Trump does .

Rest assured, Trump didnt find him to be not guilty in a Court of law

They should do it inside their own homes , have a group online meeting and all shout and get angry and throw things around in their own bedrooms  as not to disturb everyone else

Yawn. Try something new.

Many of us are not the President of the United States. Trump is. Whether you like to admit it or not, his words carry more weight, and can conceivably effect legal proceedings. Also, perhaps just my opinion, but the President should be held to a higher standard than a TVF poster.

I think that everyone and anyone should be able to say what they want and when they want

And I think the President should exercise more care with his words when commenting on standing police investigations and legal proceedings. With great power, comes great responsibility and all that. Posters on here can say stuff like "Nuke China!". Apparently, in your world, no issues whatsoever if Trump does the same.

This is the kind of dogmatic, myopic nonsense that gets people riled up.
He’s the President of The United States for gods sake not just some guy down the pub. His words carry weight and consequences; he can either help a situation or make it a great deal worse and his “opinion” on this matter is obviously and very purposely throwing fuel on the fire.
A correct response to this would have been along the lines of “I’m sure the American justice system will prevail and determine the fate of this young man.... in the meantime I would like to call for calm and reason .....blah, blah”

You all love his straight talking; I wonder how much you will love it when the whole country is involved in a race war just because he couldn’t be presidential.

Do you really think that all the unrest would stop , just because Trump asked them to keep calm ?

Why not? Were you born yesterday? Plenty worse has been said and done in the last 100 years by US Presidents.

Do you really think it helps that he says they are terrorists and his gun laden supporters are great patriots?

It would certainly help if he met with them, listened to concerns and said he would consider the issues.

No I don’t but I also don’t think he is helping in any way shape or form.
there’s a difference between calming and inflaming and all he’s doing is inflaming for VERY obvious reasons.
He now sees this as his best chance at re-election and calm doesn’t work for that. It’s not only shameful it’s also very dangerous.

That's a good post and I agree with most of what you say. I think many of his supporters wish he would be a little more presidential at times.

There are also many of his supporters that are sick to death of lying two faced politicians that say one thing and do the opposite.

There is also the point that maybe, just maybe almost four years of constant vilification and outright hostility from the msm, no matter what he does, takes its toll.

It is also disingenuous to blame any race war solely at Trumps door.

Blm, the Democrats and especially the Msm have to shoulder much of the blame.

Good grief. Trump may not be the best, but he hasn't started a war based on a lie, nor has he ethnically cleansed the Native Americans.
