Deputy National Police chief Pol General Wirachai Songmetta has been dismissed from his current position, according to an official document issued on August 31.

The Royal Thai Police reported that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha had ordered the Prime Minister's Office to publish the document.

Wirachai was accused of dereliction of duty and was interrogated by a committee on corruption, which later presented the investigation report to HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn.

The royal command stated that Wirachai had been dismissed from the position of Deputy National Police chief with effect from July 29.

Wirachai allegedly had defied the order of National Police chief Pol General Chakthip Chaijinda on January 9 not to get involved in the case of shots fired at a Lexus SUV of Pol Lt-General Surachate Hakparn, a former Immigration Police chief.

Wirachai was transferred on January 23 to an inactive post at Government House for allegedly "projecting a negative image of the Royal Thai Police” through his behaviour and actions.

Veerachai removed as the deputy national police chief

Veerachai-Songmetta.jpg

Police General Veerachai Songmetta has been removed from his post as the deputy national police chief. The move is retroactive to July 29th and is for an alleged gross disciplinary violation.

Veerachai’s removal was mentioned in an announcement by the Prime Minister’s Office, dated August 31st, after he was moved to a reservist post by the national police chief, Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda, on July 9th.

An informed police source said that Veerachai’s removal became effective after there was a Royal Command approving it, issued on July 29th.

So , he got fired for investigating in the case of who fired the shots at Big Joke's car ... that tells a lot already ...

No.

He got fired for choosing the wrong faction.

Oh, and recording a conversation with Chakthip (his boss) and releasing it, oh and for failing to follow orders, oh, and for ignoring the chain of command.

They need many more generals to get all this stuff straightened out.

What kind of Generals? Lt/Gens, Maj/ Gens? Maybe depends on who has the most medals, wings, bling etc. What a joke :cheesy:, what a country :cheesy:. These police guys with the soldiers ranks sure love themselves.

Maybe the police with the funny ranks could arrange a coup. Police vs Soldiers, the winners running the country with Maj/Gen Somchai as PM.

Well it couldn't get any worse could it?

He should be reinstated and promoted to National Police Chief.
