webfact Posted September 10, 2020 Share Posted September 10, 2020 Hornbill expert gored by wild guar in Khao Yai national park A hornbill expert was seriously injured by a wild guar, as he and his team were surveying the route for the production of a TV documentary on rare bird species in Khao Yai national park, in Thailand’s northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima on Wednesday. Mr. Pitthaya Chueylua, and seven other teammates were trekking along a jungle route, about five kilometres from the main Thanarat Road, when a guar suddenly sprang out of the bushes and attacked Mr. Pitthaya’s legs. The team alerted Mr. Pokklong Thongnuakheng, assistant chief of the park, who immediately asked for a helicopter to be sent to pick up the wounded man for medical treatment.
