British Airways flights

Featured Replies

I am confused.

Flightradar is showing the arrival this morning of BA9 and the subsequent departure of BA10 at pretty normal schedule times.

British Airways, and Heathrow, websites are showing the flights as cancelled - which is what I would expect to see.

Is this a glitch on Flightradar, a ghost flight - or something else.

I don't think BA are currently flying that route.

Flightradar have probably not bothered to updated since the virus struck.

Emirates might be your best bet via Dubia.

BA10 is airborne now and departed BKK 2 hours ago for LHR

It appears on Flightradar24 crossing the east coast of India just south of Kolkata

Not a ghost flight it is operating as BA09/10 departed LHR 19 Sept 2020

Whether it carries paying pax is another matter

Sometimes the flight is operated by a B777-200F freighter, sometimes by a passenger B787-8/9. It is quite common for passenger a/c to be used on cargo flights these days. While watching a live feed of Bigjets.tv the commentator mentioned that a BA flight to Philadelphia was carrying seafood only. Airlines like BA only have a small number of freighters and airfreight rates have risen dramatically so it pays to use passenger a/c for freight duties.

BA aren't doing passenger flights into or out of BKK as far as I know. A good mate had been booked and cancelled many times since May. BA bumped him over to Qatar and he flew back last week.
