Manager reported that a group of foreign tourists were helping clean up Hat Meng beach in the Hat Chao Mai national marine park in Trang in southern Thailand.

The beach was in a filthy state with plastic and other rubbish after tropical storm Noul subsided.

The media reported damage to a tour company and shops that contributed to the trash.

One of the helpers was Nino from Spain who said that he and his friends had been in Thailand for six months and wanted to help out and keep the beach beautiful.

Clemny from Italy said she had been in Thailand for a long time and had come over from Koh Tao.

She helped clean the beach every day and hoped she could inspire others who passed to do the same.

Manager praised the efforts of the foreign visitors.

Good work.  With a lot of Thais in the hospitality industry out of work this would give them something to do and assist their mental health.  Thailand says it is expecting a large influx of tourists so they should be employed to clean up and get it ready for the visitors, tourists can't prepare the country alone.

Well done. Admirable way for farangs to spend the few remaining days before they are kicked out.

I'd want thicker gloves than the people in the photo's are wearing.

Plenty of 'sharpes' in that rubbish.
