Accident Airport Worker Dies in Crash While Fulfilling Promise to Take Son Out
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. A crash claimed the life of a 40-year-old airport worker on the afternoon of 4 May, after rushing home after a night shift to take his five-year-old son on a promised outing. The man reportedly lost consciousness or fell asleep, while riding his motorcycle, crashing into a tree and utility pole, and died at the scene. His wife and young son, who were riding with him, were both injured. The incident occurred at around 14:30 along Kasemrat Phatthana Road in Bang Krachai, Mueang Chachoengsao district. Pol. Lt. Prasert Detchsupa of Mueang Chachoengsao Police Station responded to the emergency call and coordinated with rescue workers and forensic doctors from Phutthasothon Hospital. Emergency crews found a Honda Wave motorcycle overturned by the roadside, and the body of the deceased rider was discovered in a nearby ditch with severe head injuries. His wife, aged 46, and their son, aged 5, were injured in the crash, the boy suffering a broken leg. Both were rushed to Phutthasothon Hospital for treatment. Ms. Wanphen, 52, the older sister of the man’s wife, told reporters that her brother-in-law had just finished an overnight shift at Suvarnabhumi Airport and rushed home to keep a promise he had made to his son. “He had promised to take his son to a shopping mall play area before the new school term began,” she said. “He hadn’t had time before because of his work schedule. Today he finally managed to keep his word.” She speculated that fatigue from lack of rest likely caused him to lose consciousness while riding. Authorities have launched an investigation and sent the body for autopsy before returning it to the family for religious rites. Adapted by Asean Now from Khaosod 2025-05-06. -

Report 7 Russian Tourists Hospitalised After Eating Wild Fruit in Thailand
Darwin was absolutely correct, it takes a certain amount of survival skills to thrive in this world and to stay safe. Who would go into a tropical jungle and eat an unknown fruit? What kind of a person does something like that? It defies the imagination.
