EU, UK to step up Brexit talks to try to close 'significant gaps' over trade deal

It has never been dealt with. All we got were tired slogans from the Brexit campaign. Then as details emerged of what Brexit actually means all we got were repeats of we knew what we were voting for.

Only Loiner (bless him) has been honest enough to actually admit he voted for Brexit because of immigration. To my understanding he does not care about the consequences just so long as immigration is stopped.

Now his position is clear.

The rest of you Brexiteers just skirt the issue of why you voted for Brexit. Not one of you could have known what Brexit would look like because here we are four years later and we still dont know.

And so the cycle continues.

So break the cycle by explaining what you voted for, not repeating meaningless slogans.  Preferably, also please give us some indication as to whether what it was is likely to be deliveredm and whther there arenow any downsides that you had not considered at the time.

I owe you nothing, which is exactly what you'll be getting. It has been covered so many times, you must have been out that day.

Judging by you last effort to "explain", I have missed nothing.

Enjoy your victory while the Country gets poorer.

This is the kind of evasion we have had for the last 4 years.

You want everyone to unite behind Brexit but you and the other Brexiteers cant even begin to tell us WHY.

And there lies the crux of the matter, we will still have a country and not be a vassalage state of the EU. One day you might thank the Brexiteers.

It has never been evaded, many leavers have tried to get through to you, but as Perry Como sang 'It's Impossible'.

No, they haven't   Why don't you give it one more try?

Or even comment on my previous question of why it is that we cannot be against Brexit as this has been voted on but it is a different matter that Farage failed to be elected at his first attempt but could try again.

No it has not. At all. Ever. You Brexiteers have always simply evaded and avoided the questions.

Just like you are doing now.

See this is why I think of Brexit as a cult. It would appear you dont need evidence. You dont need facts. What you need is belief.

All you need to know is we're leaving.

Do you remainers think you are superior to everyone else, giving out orders on here will not work, "give it one more try" "comment on my previous question" posters will comment on what they chose to comment on and not by directives from you or anyone else for that matter.

Why you keep bringing Farage into this defies all logic, we had a referendum, the leavers won, the government are implementing the will of the people, that is democracy at its finest, sorry you and others don't subscribe to the democratic result but hey, c'est la vie.

Absolutely right. Rarely have I seen a better example of democracy at work.

Unfortunately, democracy at the margin, when the result is, say, 52%/48% seems to make leavers think that that they are empowered to challenge the result. No... move on.

A horse that wins The Derby by a neck is not accountable to others ...... he is simply the winner.  It is not complicated.

Unable even to read and comprehend the full sentence even while quoting it I see.   "Why don't you...." is a question, not a command,

They are?  You see, that is what we are trying to establish - what, exactly is this "will of the people".  If we can find out what it was people who voted leave actually voted for, then we might be able to make progress.  (and no "to Leave" is not an answer to the question).

But what was the will of the people?

What version of Brexit did people want?

Hard Brexit?

Soft Brexit?

The entire thing has been highjacked by Brexit fundamentalists.

Come on Rookie! I can almost forgive Phulublub for asking this question, as I don't recall him being part of the zillions of Brexit threads. But you - you can't seriously be asking this question AGAIN?!

I can only assume whenever Brexiters have explained it to you you've just ignored them and carried on whining.

And as for wanting you guys to unite behind Brexit - we've learned over the past 4 years that ain't ever going to happen! Your support for Brexit is not expected or needed. Thanks for the offer though ????

You are like most remainers, you just don't listen, I repeat for the last time, it has been explained. I have tried to symplify my answer to you but it is just not working, I am sorry I am not saying what you want to hear. The options as you can see are leave or remain, no caveats like 'but what if phulublub doesn't agree to the democratic decision, do we have another referendum'

And as for the rest of your post, it's total nonsense.

And your next EU Derby will be run again in about 46 years or so. Probably not a different winner by then.

Hey you forgot that I also voted for No Deal. I think I may have mentioned that a couple of times. Maybe you missed it?

How you Remainers think you can read Leavers minds continues to amaze me, especially when your own memories are so selective.

Dont think I did Loiner. Hence my sentence about you not caring about the consequences.

So all leavers voted for the same Brexit that you want?

Amazing.

Still ignoring that by missing the start of my sentence you entirely changed it from question to command just so you could have a rant.

And, once again, showing what the options were does not, in any way, explain the reasons for choosing one over the other.  At all.  But the more you perservere with your lines of misquote, misrepresent and non-answer, the more I become convinced you are a one-reason brexiteer who cannot bring himself to acknowledge the severe downsides that will come with your "victory".

We don't.  That is the whole point.

Many believe that Brexit voters did so for a huge variety of reasons, some of which will be completely contradictory.  Others will have voted unaware of some (or many) of the consequences.

You voted to stop immigration and for No Deal.  How many of your bedfelloews did the same?  How many voted to Leave but in the full expectation of a decent Trade Deal?  If ANY of them did so, then either you (and those like you) or they will not get what they voted for.

So an annual referendum is OK then?

Personally, if someone is quoting me, I prefer that they address the entire sentence and not cherry pick to change the inten to suit a preconceived bias.

Annually may be a little to frequent - but maybe on the same timescale as the Olypics or World Cup.

Then again, I think Switzerland has multiple referenda (referendums?) and they seem to do pretty well.
