Date of "under consideration" stamp

Featured Replies

I have to return to MTT to sort out my "under consideration" stamp on 12 October, which is Monday right before the 13th (a Thai holiday).  I wanted to go to Koh Chang for the long weekend, but obviously this is problematic if I have to be in MTT right in the middle of that time.  Would it be possible to go to immigration earlier?  Would it be OK to go later?  With all the promotion of domestic tourism -- in which I enthusiastically want to participate -- it'd be a shame for all involved if this kept me home.

Also, I've seen a few commenters on this site mention calling immigration.  Are you calling 1178?  Would they be able to answer my questions?

Thanks so much for your help! ????

You could go early but the approval might not be done. It would not be a problem to go a couple of days late. If you went on the 14th they would do it then.

Thanks ubonjoe! ????????‍♀️

Sorry to hijack this thread. Do either of you know which online reservation drop down we select for updating under consideration stamps obtained via embassy letter? Personally, my march entry stamp was visa exempt 30 day.

I assume it would be this one. image.png.7db25d36535bf40a7e0bdf62f8d78ad0.png

is that true normally? My stamp is 21st Oct. Due to celebrating a birthday, i was hoping to go south for 3 or 4 days, returning to bangkok on the 23rd, meaning going to immigration on the 26th. is that pushing it? I have no idea how the under consideration stamp works other than being told to come back by the lady at MTT.

Since there is a long weekend (holiday on the 23rd) included they would accept it on the 26th. Being late would not be a valid reason for the denying it so that is nothing worry about. You may be grubled at for being late.

If you got the stamp some time ago it may be approved already if you went early.

I got the stamp on the 23rd Sept.

If it wasnt 400 each way I'd happily try early!

By my (googles) calculation, 30 days from 23rd sept is 23rd of Oct, so I dont want to trip up on that either in case I'm given a stamp till then and effectively have to leave within 2 days because I turned up on the 26th!

Argh. I guess I should go on the 21st to play safe.

Before the new amnesty became official you would of been stamped to the 26th but now your extension stamp will be until November 30th so there is nothing to worry about now.

The IO who came to visit us left us with a note on which he had hand written  "Can report before 15 days or after 7 days after"

He was from the Chiang Rai Office.

We had the "under consideration" in the passport

Nice bloke too.
