Thailand lifts emergency measures aimed at stopping protests

The emergency decree is not what they're protesting about Prayuth.....they want you and your military buddies back into the barracks....and reforms!

The protesters gave Prayut 3 days to resign or face more protests on Saturday. So no protests today or tomorrow planned. Quite a few videos on Twitter showing the yellow shirts who were quite clearly either police or army in yellow polo shirts.

Means absolutely nothing to them. Now there are somethings that can be read as an indirect direct forceful threat that will happen to the protestors in his speech. Now this is where I think they will take it. He and his regime elite do not want peace, he want and his regime elite want absolute control where nothing changes. This guy and the regime elite cannot be trusted one bit.

And per his speech which is like an ultimatum, they will be met with force and this might just be more bloodshed with a total and absolute powerful push for suppression. I don't think these students, young Thai, and other older Thai are going to back down to as they see it as tyranny and lies. They see it as a revolution of change for a rebirth.

So after a week or so he found out that his escalation tactics to scare and intimidate the demonstrator's very reasonable demands didn't work. But since the guy lives in opposite world he won't acknowledge that he and his minions, the way they grabbed power (screwing parliament and democracy) , that he is part of the problem and needs to go. Guess we will see new demonstrations this weekend.

They were 100% army in yellow shirts last night at govt house, the rest are civil servants made to turn out and a few old brainwashed die hards. Very few of the former middle class yellows for reasons which cannot be mentioned

For all those concerned,  Gen Khun Prayut Chan O Cha is not continuously occupied by the student protests, he has dozens of other daily schedules and meeting to attend.  The reason for his lifting of the emergency decree is simply because it's not warranted at this time. Should the student make trouble and violence again I am sure he will re-issue the order for emergency decree at the drop of a hat.  Hopefully the protestors will heed Khun Prayut's warning and get back to work and school.

Excellent work by Khun Prayut and the government.  Also, at this time Gen Khun Prayut Cha O Cha has been inspecting flooded provinces such as Changchasoe and Nakhon Ratchasima, as he needs to witness the devastation and crop destruction first hand. He has ordered the army to provide food, transport and shelter to the poor and needy.

They are not going to back down, because what previously caused protests and conflicts to stop is the very thing that is provoking this one.

 

That is the fundamental change in the playbook.

 

This is the New Era.

 

It is not going to be, as some on TVF keep saying, a new bunch of crooks who are no better than "the last lot".

More fantasy, the protesters have not caused any violence which must be highly disappointing for some, and have ran rings around the uniformed do do's in charge. His state of emergency was a total failure, his banning media outlets from covering the protests was as well as has been the comical yellow supporters who were from the army. He can forget everything else and concentrate on his resignation speech, it's a new age and he and his band of uniformed stuffed shirts will soon be consigned to history where they belong.
