Popular Post 9653
CULLING is the only answer to this problem. i have many dogs, and I love them dearly, I feed them twice a day. But soi dogs are not loved, they just don’t want another eater in their pack, end of story
Elkski
Good tourist draw. Let me at em. I would pay to kill them. Modern air rifles with video cameras on the scope to document they ran free and soon these dogs would be a worthy quarry. No loose dogs at all. If a dog is off leash no collar with rabbies tags its fair game. Can have contests that move from city to city. Let's hope this mauling and past ones get picked up in the news internationally. Mavideol
stray dogs are all around in Ao Nang, NoPPharat Thara, beaches, the police doesn't do anything about it, when confronted with the reality they shake their head, last year they had a couple of problems, the local government said that he will be collecting the dogs .... as usual nothing was done, went there for a week end, lots of Thais enjoying the beach but a lot of parents spend most of their time chasing stray dogs, I rented a motorbike, drove around and got chased by a couple of dogs as well, if they don't do anything to solve the problem, the tourists that were MAYBE thinking about going will change their mind, I for one will not go back

This is Insane ,The (most)Thais they say they Love Animals and can't Cull them They have to die by themselves . They are Absolutely Cruel to the Dogs to make them suffer in pain and discomfort. Kick them out Flea ridden ,Full of Ticks ,Mange, No food .You call that Loving Animals ? That's worse than culling them .At least if they are Dead they Don't Suffer and can't attack people. Some of your Do Gooders may not like it But it's the Only way to get things Right. 4

The moronic nature of this post cannot be understated. Your comment implies the parents are to blame. Is a beach not a place where children can run free? We’ve just come back from the beach - there were stray dogs (about 7 of them) I hated it. There is no reason for these dogs to be there - none whatsoever. A beach is a place where children should be free to play, run around and be free without fear of stray dogs attacking them. It's time for a ’national crackdown’ removing any and all stray dogs. Its simple - any stray dog without a collar is removed. The owners of any stray dog with an identifying collar are fined for not securing their animal. 5

This has absolutely nothing to do with liking or hating animals. It has everything to do with ensuring public areas are safe - people who can’t understand that are part of the problem. Usually stupid people who over simplify in such binary and idiotic manner. I have the same opinion of poor electric and bare wires etc... there is no place for them and the issue needs to be fixed - this does not mean I ‘hate' electrical cables !!!! I have the same opinion of the roads in Thailand... many people driving dangerously and need education, fines, penalties etc - that doesn’t mean I hate Thai’s !!! In this case there is no easy solution: Cull all street dogs and prevent suffering of further generations of feral and homeless dogs scavenging for food and make the public area’s safe. This issue has been an issue for decades - Had this been resolved two decades ago scores of children would not be scared today and hundreds of thousands of animals would not be suffering. If Thailand could resolve this issue now, 5 years from now we would no longer be reading these horrible reports of packs of dogs attacking children. And those who attacked people should be culled immidiately. The owner (or past owner) has to be found and made to pay and be punished. And after there are no more strays left - every new stray should be arrested and the owner found and let him pay for the food and have a heavy punishment Bla bla bla... the animals need to be collected and euthanised. Let’s have dog foundations while tens of millions of children across the globe haven’t food or shelter !

If you really think so, you should rather forward this suggestion to the government body instead of posting a comment here in vain. Even though you did so, it is quite unlikely for them to slaughter these creatures officially. Buddhism influence is so strong in this kingdom, that they feel guilty for openly killing even ferocious animals posing threats. When 2 vicious dogs attacked 6 children at the primary school in Chonburi on Oct.8, they used sleep darts. Not the live rounds which could kill them instantly.

In this topic, you seem to be quite concerned about dog attack issue. On the other hand, you ridicule the one with defense measure against those beasts in another thread. black tabby
Thai administration is less than reluctant to act decisively to help solve stray dog issue. Still, we can make a difference at individual level. In short, it is to make it harder for those beast to attack us(people). How? Start to carry around non-lethal, non-toxic defensive weapon when we are outside home. Fortunately, overall cost per unit is less than a few dollars. Easy near-free replenishment at home. Here is a short video for your reference. Hope it helps.

LWFM
I love animals ... but something needs to be done urgently. I have been attached by a soi dog on Second road Pattaya, and it is not a situation I would like to repeat. Remember there are diseases that have no cure. To hear that the dogs tried to drag the infant away is chilling as these animals only want to take a dump, screw and EAT. These dogs were after food, period. We need some Soi dogs to go after Government Ministers when they are doing a PR photo shoot with the Media. ????
