The highways department said that Route 7 from Bangkok to Pattaya and the Route 9 motorway from Bang Pa-In to Bang Plee plus the elevated section from Phrapradaeng to Bang Khun Thian would all be toll free during the recently created long weekend holidays next month and in December.

They will be free to use from November 18th to 23rd a period that encompasses the four day break from the 19th to 22nd November.

They will also be free for a six day period around the 10th to 13th December holiday. Further details of the exact timings about that one will be available soon.

The move is thought to cost the authorities 500 million baht and is to ease the pressure on expenses for those travelling in the long holidays as well as ease congestion at toll booths.
