Context is everything.

So in what context is it ok to say to a blind person that they can kill themselves because they are blind?

Good that euthanasia will be legal, I think it should be the right of anyone at any time to decide, would avoid suicides

I want to have a painless death at a time of my choosing, not because I'm screaming with pain. Suicide is actually quite hard to do successfully. Why does anyone think they can dictate to me

  • Don't you think it is very disturbing that some government may decide about your life and when you may die and when you must live ? I feel it is up to any grown up to decide if they want to live or no

I have pondered on suicide being, “illegal” as if I will be brought back to life to answer to the law ...

IMO it's hard to commit suicide successfully. High chance of being prevented from dying or botching it and ending up worse off.

Imagine jumping off a high building and ending up a quad instead of dead.

The harder they make it to do, the more extreme the methods used to do so become.

I believe that anyone should be able to get the suicide pill regardless of reason. My only restriction would be that one would need to convince 2 psychologists that one was serious.

Soooo, if a blind person wanted to die because of it and could convince the psychologists they were serious, that's their choice, IMO.

No one I've seen on here is saying blind people should be told to kill themselves, IMO.

Fantastic and very sensible  option  removing the religious BS that other countries   keep  alive. I think it  should be a human right to decide when you die.

The article states that it will only apply to people who’ve been diagnosed with a terminal condition and who have less than 6 months to live. That excludes people who for example might be in an immense amount of pain from a non terminal condition, or who may have been rendered totally immobile or blind, etc, and who wish to die. That of course in no way implies that many or most quadriplegics and blind people can’t have enjoyable and fulfilling lives, just would give them the choice.

OH that's a bit  of  a  bummer but its a start.

Euthanasia is just self inflicted murder committed by an approved accomplice!

Curious if you are religious at  all?
