not really but most linux desktops support virtual desktops.

Cube is a virtual desktop manager - instead of having one desktop, you have 4 and switch between them. Looks pretty good to me, I am definitely going to give this a try. I am not a virtual desktop guy yet but will give this one a go as it looks very simple.

There are many other virtual deskop managers but IMHO the most important thing is are they simple. The simpler the better.

Would it be possible to create complete different desktops?

Like one desktop to use for web authoring, with shortcuts only for relevant programs and shortcuts to all the relevant folders.

And another desktop dedicated to video editing, again with only shortcuts to relevant programs and folders...

Now, when I remove an icon or shortcut, it's gone from all the desktops!

I like how I can click from one to another workspace on Ubuntu but this way of doing it is much prettier. Cheers :o

It is a rather interesting application. On my home computer it isn't necessary due to multiple monitors but my office computer it looks handy. BTW, at first it was awkward knowing where other windows were until I brought the transparency down to 75%, now can 'see through' and see the other windows making negotiating easier.

Nice one Skippy.

Great solution to the cluttered task bar.

Now I have my VB development on one side of the cube, web development (VisualInterDev etc.) on another and a 'take a break' side with the web (TV etc.), FreeCell on another.

The only problem is not getting notified when someone MSN's me, but I can live with that.
