133 in hospital, the capacity of the dedicated wards is what, a few hundred? Means they can't ease up if they still intend to hospitalize every asymptomatic case. Something's gotta give.

Just picked up a tidbit of information.  The approximate cost for someone who is Asymptomatic and never needing true treatment after 14 days is between 200,000 Baht and 300,000 Baht.  I was given this information from my insurance agent when I questioned him as to whether they would pay if I test positive and placed in isolation for being Asymptomatic.  He indicated the costs are what they are and dependent upon the charges for the nursing staff, PPE equipment and then the room and meals.  Yes they will still be isolating an Asymptomatic person in the hospital based upon it being a money maker.  In the US unless you have symptoms they are sending you back home to self isolate as they have no reason to put you in a hospital if you do not need treatment, and a nurse will come by and test you near the end of the 14 day home isolation to ensure you have cleared with a negative test.

Nifty little money maker.

That's exactly what I thought, so they make money for you being in quarantine and then they make money when your placed in Isolation for being Asymptomatic.

A LOT of asymptomatic cases lately ... if they open to tourists and a lot of tourists really arrive here , there is a real danger of a  mayor outbreak in Thailand , what would ruin Thailands current reputation of being a ' secure holiday destination ' .

Better think twice before opening ... The US and European strain of the virus is much more contagious than the ' thai strain ' .
