Porn & Pirate DVDs Found at Tuk Com

Pattaya Police Chief Pol. Col. Sutin Sappuang was informed that many copied DVDs and porn was being sold at the Tuk Com Building, South Pattaya Road, therefore sent out an undercover team to inspect the venue.

The undercover police went to the suspect shop in the evening of 2nd May and were offered catalogues of pictures for the DVDs.

When the agreement of purchase was made, the police noticed the vendor going up to the 6th floor of Tuk Com to get the products, therefore followed up, and identified themselves to make a search.

At first the police did not receive any cooperation from the owner of the shop; Miss Pensri Suksamran, but since the evidence was there – she couldn’t get away with it.

It took 3 pickup trucks to load all the DVDs back to the station together with the suspect. Reporters believe that there must have been more than 10,000 DVDs seized that day.

However questions remain from many; “what will happen to the seized DVDs”?

1.5 Million Baht raid of Tuk.Com IT Center in South Pattaya.

It is widely known that the Tuk.Com IT Center located on the South Pattaya Road sells copies of well known Audio CD’s and DVD Movies on the 4th Floor.

The vendors run the risk of arrest and confiscation of the CD’s on a daily basis and we have reported on raids by Police at the Center on many occasions.

This is one such raid conducted by Police Lieutenant Colonel Santi from Pattaya Police Station who conducted a raid of around 30 shops on the 4th Floor of the Center on Wednesday Night. On this occasion no vendors could be arrested as they were able to escape before the Police arrived.

The Police entered each unattended shop and confiscated over 10,000 CD’s, VCD’s and DVD’s worth an estimated 1.5 Million Baht.

The Police will conduct further investigations into the sale of these items at the Center and will attempt to locate and arrest the vendors as soon as they can.

Now there's a laugh. 40+ vendors (at least) on that floor alone selling CDs/VCDs/DVDs of dubious origins. Two escalators, 1 stairway and 1 slow elevator going from the 4th to the (3rd or 5th) floors and they couldn't catch any of them ? :o

It makes me laugh because a couple of years ago the RCMP (Canadian Police) decided to raid the small village I used to live in, and my dad still lives there. There are around 90 full-time residents and the cops figured at least half of them were somehow involved in growing marijuana way back in the mountains (a good 45 minute drive along gravel logging roads from the next nearest town).

To raid this tiny little place, they sent in 160 cops, using boats on the lake, trucks/SUVs on the roads and helicopters. They managed to bust a number of grow-ops, and arrested a grand total of 12 people (didn't have enough evidence to charge anymore. While they determined that at least half the residents were involved somehow, that included wives and kids of the guys who actually were involved.)

I can imagine the scene at TukCom as various vendors (of all types of products, not just pirated software) scrambled for the exits when the BiB arrived ! :D
