OneMoreFarang
Yesterday I spoke with a friend who lives since many years in an expensive Bangkok condominium. According to him at least one of the people who lives in that building has Covid-19. It seems the condominium management knows about it and let it happen. Is that normal and legal? I thought in Thailand anybody who is tested positive is in quarantine or a hospital. I can't verify the story and I don't have any other details like nationality, age or any info. And I won't name the condominium. 1
blackcab
For "normal" people there is just no chance of this. You are either in State Quarrantine/Alternative State Quarantine or at a hospital, until you are given the all clear. There was previously the case of the Sudanese diplomat's daughter: There was also the case of the EU diplomat who was refused entry to their condo: However, after this happened the government made it quite clear that all foreign diplomats would have to enter the ASQ programme:
tomazbodner
Well what if the person got COVID in Thailand, and the hospital let him go home and self-quarantine, not being a new arrival? Then it could be possible, but of course would negate the "no local infections" claim.

How did they know they are positive?
DeeMak9
No chance. Anyone who is positive has to stay in the hospital. Even if they only found anti bodies.

Sam Lin
Back in the spring there were cases of infected people staying at their condos, before we really had much understanding of the disease and policies were very scattered. Hasn't been the case for many months now.
