Video: Thai driver has a pretty amazing excuse for fleeing scene of an accident

A motorcyclist thought he was helping out after he chased a car for ten kilometers after a hit and run incident.

But after the driver of the vehicle that fled the scene wound down his window he got an answer to his question he wasn't expecting.

"I saw you do a hit and run," said Aum Ariya in a Facebook post that went viral.

"No, she hit ME," says the driver in reply.

"So why did you flee then?, he presses the driver.

"The person who hit me is my wife. I'm with my "mia noi" (mistress). If I didn't flee all hell would break loose. Get it?"

Comment online has been rife with support for both the wife and the couple in the car that fled the scene!

So you admit you would cheat on your wife and run like a coward once discovered. I would not call that well played.

It amazes me that any girl would be a 'mia noi' fully knowing the scum she is with has a wife and family.

Man-up if you want this new girl and divorce the wife, pay maintenance and stop being such a scum-bag.

A family is a husband and wife but you seem to think the cheating little mia noi is ok?  and the husband?  he is a hypocrite and a cheating scumbag. Divorce his wife and have some ethics. Thinks, for a minute, inside your scull how it feels for his wife? I think you 'do not thinketh enough"

A huge percent off Thai girls love drama in their lives, they find their lives boring without,,plus the financial side of things.

Perhaps to avoid the blood shed, he should keep the mia noi in the garden shed - out of sight, but easy to get to.

Just add a few kratoeys gossiping house maids, an evil rival and a guy with evil eyes and a gun then you have the full Thai soap opera.

Next time the Wife will do better; she will attack with a Gun and not a Car !

A few years ago a police officer flagged me to stop. I didn't and he chased me. He caught me after about 10 km and asked why I didn't stop?

I told him that my wife left me for a police officer, and when he tried to stop me I thought he was the 1 she left me for and that he wants to give her back...

Perhaps not, if the wife had her boyfriend in the car with her.

Don’t forget at least one ghost that appears 2/3 of the way into the story.

Just like in China, a Mia Noi (concubine in China and a mistress to the rest of us) is common practice and the majority of wives know about them.  In fact some wives actively encourage their husbands to have one as long as they retain their status as wife number one.  The Mia Noi gets all the perks of being a mistress.  She gets wined and dined, often her housing and expenses are paid for and of course lot's of little gifts to keep her sweet.

I would say don't try to put western values on this but quite honestly things are not that different in the West either.  You just need deeper pockets there.
