November 13, 20205 yr Today went to CW immigration for a second 60 day extension. No drama. Photocopy of the pertinent pages in the passport. 1900 baht. Stamped in my passport, "consideration of stay" and must return in two weeks. Not too busy. one hour and fifty minutes. The only hiccup worth mentioning was the lady at the ticket queue disk. She wanted to know if I had a bank book and how much was in it. She then explained if I did not have the funds to contact her. She wrote her phone number on a printed leaflet "Requirements and documentation when applying for extension of temporary stay in case of staying with Thai children." This was all explained in Thai to my daughter who just pleaded ignorance. Hope this helps.
November 14, 20205 yr No application (TM7), no photo, no signed copy ID card of Thai child (or wife), no signed copy of the house registration...where she lives or you live?? Interesting...

November 14, 20205 yr So what was the lady at the desk going to do about not having money in the bank account and is it her job to ask people about their finances and not the IO that is doing your visa?

I will try to get 1 of the New 60 day extensions tomorrow @ Kap Choeng, Surin. It will be my 2nd, 60 day ext. I got 1 for "Visiting my Thai wife" about the end of September. Is there an official memo I can show them? Something from Immigration? If so please tell me where I can find it & print it to show them tomorrow. Thank you.

She explained that after this 60 day extension, the only route left for me was to get a one year visa. This requires proof of 400,000 baht in the bank. If I did not have it in the bank, then I was to contact her on the phone number she wrote down on the advisory form. I guess she was touting for business. I did notice later on, when she was walking about collecting various paperwork from the different IO desks, she had immigration police on the back of her uniform.

Thanks, ubonjoe, I hadn't picked up on the 'new' 60 day extension. Maybe that was what you were referring to last week and I just didn't comprehend what you were saying. Cheers.

What did you put down as your reason for staying? Closed boarders, COVID-19, ???
