UK PM Johnson's Brexit 'brain' Cummings to leave Downing Street

I think Boris is probably at home looking for a backbone, something he appears to be badly missing!  Unfortunately there isn't much chance of him finding one.

I think I can hear him now....  "Carrie luv!  Have you seen my backbone anywhere?".  "Never knew you had one darling!" is the reply.

Another classic sulking remainer post, well done.........:clap2:..................

Can you expand on that, if you are able.....?  ????

What? That Boris is a chancer?  Why not start with the night when he went from being a passionate remainer to being a staunch Brexiteer without any justification what so ever.  You can then follow that with all the ducking and diving, leaving without a deal, (yet still trying to negotiate one) and of course, not ending up dead in a ditch.  The list is pretty endless.

So why is he pushing for a deal and ensuring the peoples vote is implicated...?

People like you will slag off anyone involved with getting Brexit finalised, so tiresome...????

You are confusing me with someone else.  I stopped being a remainer long before Boris became PM.  My complaint is the way he (and his chums) are systematically and embarrassingly trashing our country.

You need to expand your labelling from just "remainer" and "Brexiteer".  Most of us moved on from that years ago now.

How can that be? Surely the more equipped politicians had the ability to convince the voters of the correct path? Perhaps when we look to highlight failure, inept performance, inability to gain public confidence, we should look back at the abysmal election result garnered by the opponents of Boris? Total failure by one party hands success to the opponent.

Who wants catastrophic election losers running a country? Oh yes I'm sure they are really high achievers when not in control ????

Because grandiouse sound bites won the day.

If you repeat a lie often enough, people will begin to think it is the truth.  And repeating a quick fire great sounding slogan is very difficult to argue against with facts - especially when any and all are immediately labelled "Project Fear".

But you allknew what you were voting for.  Or not.

I am not struggling at all.

At least I am able to justify my positions rather than hiding behind "pithy" one lines rejoinders, and do not have several contradictory ones at the same time.

Since you saw fit to jump in when I asked a question of another poster, how about you go back and answer my question to you about your non-reply to 7by7?

Any time he wished? Not his decision.

Whether the PM come the next general election is Sunak or Javid, I doubt that either of them would want anything to do with Cummings!

The point being that you have severely and completely contradicted yourself. As proven by the two quotes.

The abysmal election result by the opponents of Boris? When he and his party only achieved 43.6% of the vote!

Yes, Labour lost a lot of votes, but the changes for the UK as a whole and for England from 2017 show that over half of those went to the LibDems, for Scotland nearly all to the SNP. In Wales even the Brexit party got a bigger share of Labour's lost votes than the Tories!

I haven't included Northern Ireland; I wonder if you know why.

I know the Tories won an 80 seat majority, but they did that with most voters voting against them!

That was in the GE, not the 2016 referendum.

I agree there is little of merit in either of the main parties.

So most of them abstained or voted LibDem.

Poor attempt to ignore the facts.

To say that the majority voted for Boris is utterly false. 43.6% never has been and never will be more than 50%.

Who are you discussing these facts with? You are creating a discussion about percentages nobody but you quoted!!! You are providing the standard we lost but we didn't lose cr@p.

I have no intention of being drawn into your discussion with yourself!!

You wish to convince yourself Boris should not be taking the flack for the EU situation because he is not in charge go ahead. You are on your own.

I have never denied that the Tories have an 80 seat majority, but saying they achieved that because the majority of the country supported them is incorrect.

Now that your assertion the opponents of Boris had an abysmal election has been proven incorrect you are doing the usual Brexiteer tactic of denying you ever said it!

Boris is in charge and he should be taking the flak for the balls up Brexit has been ever since his coup against May started with him and the ERG scuppering her WA.

So you think the Tories lost even though they won....Hmmmmm....????

Yes, you use the same theory on Brexit too, you have no idea what democracy is...????

What you should be doing is spending your time campaigning to altering the UK voting system so that everyone must vote on important issues, then you can stop slagging off what we have now because it makes you look daft...????

What is it you don't understand about "I know the Tories won an 80 seat majority" and "Boris is in charge?"

Nope, wrong again. I have never said that Remain won in 2016! I have said, and still believe, that it was the wrong decision.

You have amply demonstrated that your idea of democracy and mine are radically different. I believe that in a democracy people have the right to criticise and campaign against the government. You have repeatedly called myself and those who believe the same undemocratic!

I am not a believer in compulsory voting; I believe that the right not to vote is as important as the right to vote.

I am torn on the issue of first past the post vs PR.

Perhaps one day you'll learn that criticism and slagging off are two entirely different things.

I always thought it was a joke when someone posted Boris could ask his girlfriend for advice.

Was surprised to read today in the international press, that she is indeed making the rules in Downing Street.

Boris should take up a job as stand up comedian.
