Childbirth (and prenatal visits) in Phuket, Doctor/Hospital Recommendations

Featured Replies

I've heard great reviews of Dr. Suppakrit at Bangkok Hospital in Phuket, but they're also the most expensive.  I'm wondering if any of you can recommend a great doctor at other hospitals on the island?

I've heard that many of the private hospitals/doctors often push for a c-section, but the other hospitals do not (which I like).  I don't need fancy decor like at Bangkok, I'm just looking for a doctor with a good reputation and who speaks decent English.

FWIW I'm American and the mom is Thai.

One last thing, I read in a post from about 4 years ago that many of the hospitals don't allow the father in the delivery room, is that still true?

Thank you for any info!
