SINGAPORE (Reuters) - A Singaporean woman, who was infected with the novel coronavirus in March when she was pregnant, has given birth to a baby with antibodies against the virus, offering a new clue as to whether the infection can be transferred from mother to child.

(Reuters) - The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Sunday reported a total 13,142,997 cases of new coronavirus, an increase of 143,333 from its previous count, and said the number of deaths had risen by 1,210 to 265,166.

Thai teak seized in SorPorKor raid north of Patong

PHUKET: Officers from the Special Operations Division Royal Forestry Department Region 12 Office in Krabi raided a plot of SorPorKor land in Kalim, north of Patong, on Friday (Nov 27) where takian “Thai teak” was being harvested.

The chief of the Tourism Council of Thailand in Chiang Mai indicated that the case of an infected Thai woman who managed to come back from Myanmar and go out and about in the northern Thai city without quarantining was another hammer blow for tourism.

Chiang Rai province on COVID-19 alert after two Thais back from Myanmar infected

A limited curfew, from midnight until 4am, has been imposed on two bridges linking Mae Sai district, of Thailand’s northern province of Chiang Rai, with Myanmar’s Thachilek township. Trading on the two bridges was also ordered to close at 6pm as the Chiang Rai provincial administration steps up measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 from across the border.

21 returnees test positive for Covid-19, highest in recent months
