Cyberpoint Internet

Featured Replies

Hi,

The apartments I stayed in last year used Cyberpoint for their net connection. I bought a monthly package and had to enter the password into my browser, then I would connect to the internet. On that trip I only used my browser, and did not try any other programs.

I'm thinking about going back to these apartments again, but I'm wondering if Cyberpoint only allows web-based access? I'd really prefer to have all my applications being able to connect to the net, such as financial platforms and even games.

If anyone has more info on Cyberpoint I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

There are loads of systems like this in Thailand apartment buildings these days. I haven't used Cyberpoint, but I have used similar systems.

The web-based login is just that--a login for the Internet service. Once you have logged in via the web browser, the Internet server oopens all ports for all programs (email, games, chat, FTP etc.).

Or at least that's the way most of the systems work.
