how it the statistic valid?

It still is valid.  It was the lowest number of counties won in history versus the highest vote count in history.  Yes counties in L.A. and NY have far more people.  They also did in 2016, 2008, and all the elections before.  Yet somehow now that huge aberration occurs?

You are correct that people vote.  However the statistic is still valid.  You have the fewest counties and the most votes.  Those are contradictory statistics.  People live in counties and Biden won the fewest yet somehow garnered the most votes.  Not impossible but it would mean Biden won overwhelmingly in those counties.  As stated 47% of people have doubts and there is no problem in alleviating their concerns not just now but for the future as people need to have confidence in the voting process.

Since the number of counties bear little relation to the distribution of the population there's no contradiction at all.

And courts have repeatedly ruled that the evidence of fraud is lacking. Are you aware that the courts are the specific legal venues created expressly to rule on the value of evidence?

Wrong. Just wrong.  Some counties in States with tiny populations have a few dozen people.

Walker88

Not true,  Those same counties in Texas, and North Dakota that had few people had few people in the previous elections.  The counties like in New York and California that have huge populations had them in prior elections also.  Yet somehow this aberration of winning the fewest number of counties and also garnering the most votes occured in this election.  Impossible.  No, however that would mean in those few counties both the number of people would be huge and his margin of victory in those counties would likewise be lopsided.

Why would counties matter?  Why not count trees or bicycles?

You really are missing reality.

Walker88

I am not saying it is impossible  What I am saying and you are missing reality is that the statistic of winning the fewest counties and gaining the most votes are congruous.  Obama in 2012 won 689 counties and 875 counties in 2008 yet got fewer votes than Biden who won only 477 counties.  I suggest your thinking that somehow that statistic is not puzzling is flawed.

More folks voted over all in this election.

I feel like I have to go back to First Grade math to make a point clear enough for the willfully obtuse to understand....

Here's a hypothetical that is quite close to reality:

County 1  20 people

County 2 50 people

County 3 170 people

County 4 312 people

County 5 1251 people

County 6 5,000,000 people

Let 45 win counties 1-5 by 5%; let Biden win county 6 by 5%

45 takes 83% of counties and has a total of 946 + 2375000 = 2,375,946

Biden takes only 16.7% of counties but has a total of 855 + 2625000 = 2,625,855

Biden wins by 249,909 votes. 5% is close to the reality of 4.48% Biden actually won by nationwide.

The State of WY has 23 counties. The total pop of WY is about 580K, so one can call the average county in WY about 25K people. LA County has 10.5 million people. Maybe 45 took all 23 WY counties. He lost LA. That's 23:1, but GUARANTEED Biden's margin in LA County alone beats 45's margin in all 23 WY counties. In fact, 45 could even have gotten every single vote in WY, and just Biden's margin in LA would have been higher than all the votes from WY.

PEOPLE vote, not land.

Now if you insist on 'proving' your spurious claim, gather all the data from all the counties in the US and see how a slight margin in heavily populated counties easily gives Biden the 7 million vote win. The actual data is likely available online somewhere. Find it and realize your error in 'logic'.

What you are missing is the fact that Biden greatly improved on Clinton's margins in the densely populated suburbs.

math is hard, but i calculate the odds of a deck of 52 cards being dealt in any particular order to be  1 in 80658175170943878571660636856403766975289505440883277824000000000000.

try it!  buy a deck of cards, open it, deal out the entire deck.  the order you dealt out is statistically impossible.

So you surveyed 70 million Americans and that's what they told you?  Right....

It's just a small minority that feel this way.  Sadly, they are all Republicans who've fallen for their cult leaders lies.

you may not have noticed, but biden is not as well-tanned as obama.  one might posit that some low-population density counties that went for obama did not go for biden.

overall the voter participation rate was higher, with the 13% of one particular demographic in some counties being overwhelmed.

puzzlement is not evidence of fraud.

Are you trying to say that Trump doesn't have the legal right to dispute the election? Surely not? That would be dictatorship, IMO

The Donald has been exercising his right to dispute. The courts have all been saying The Donald has no legal cause to dispute the election.

Democracy? Where have you been these past few weeks when a president is trying by all means to subvert it. Where are the proofs of fraud? Not one has been produced. A loser is a loser by any other name and Trump is the biggest of them all, and a bad one at that.

I'd love to see that. The ultimate put down to Biden.

Given that Biden will probably hold a social distancing event and Trump won't, Trump will have a bigger turn out, IMO.

I bet more people die from Trump's event too...winning....

In their lawsuit Texas contended that georgia included 80000 fraudulent ballots in its tally. Shows how much you know, I guess.

Well, to be accurate "proofs" have been provided. It's just that virtually all have been shot down by the courts.

The lawsuit isn't to argue or prove fraud.  Back to you . . . shows how much you know.

So Paxton decided to pad his case with irrreevant filler? If there's one thing judges love, it's a filing packed with irrelevant information. Shows how much Paxton knows.

The lawsuit isn't really about anything.  As said in the OP, it's a mess.  It's Trump pandering to his base so he can get more donations from his cult members.

Have you donated yet?

Before this stunt, 45 didn't know paxton, but as a guy on trial facing several felony charges that could land him in jail for years, paxton would like a get-out-of-jail free card, or a 45 gift pardon.

Unless paxton is a complete idiot (possible), he knows his filing is going nowhere, but he has succeeded in getting 45's attention and can now angle for a pardon.

In the last few hours, the WI federal court dismissed the last of the 'elite strikeforce team's' cases in that State, saying in the dismissal, "Federal judges do not appoint the President in this country".

For those keeping score at home, 45's elite strikeforce team is now 1 and 55.

Urban areas have more Democrats than Republicans, rural areas have more Republicans than urban areas.  That's how Biden achieved a clear majority of the votes even though his voters occupy a minority of the land.

I suspect you already knew this, you're just trying to create doubt about a clear election victory.  As you pointed out, those kind of feeble arguments work on 47% of the people.

Your link does not state that what happened was statistically improbable, it just explained what did happen in a clear manner.

Don't throw out the word "statistic" without substantiation.  Some of us are nerdy enough to call you on it.
