Lately I have seen on youtube a company advertising a sponsored work permit service.. basically they sponsor a work permit for you but you have to pay them to do so and they will basically add you to their company. Only thing I checked and the fees are outrageous. I was wondering if this practice is widespread and if it was possible to do it maybe with a lawyer...

What is your question?

Your currently in Thailand asking re this or what?

What are you trying to achieve

well basically I worked 7 years for a company here but because of the crisis I had to leave and interrupted my consecutive extensions.  I would like to get a work permit again to get social insurance and apply to thai citizenship in 3 years. Can't go to the old company, closed for good. I'm in Thailand right now with a spouse extension.

Bribing people to get a work permit isn't a good step to apply for citizenship. Look for a job.

Whether the job is genuine, or a phantom job purely designed to get a work permit and extension of stay based on working, you must on paper be employed by a Thai company and paying s sufficient level of taxes. This is much more complicated than, say, a retirement extension, and you should expect it to be very costly. Find a genuine job, unless you have a successful online business of your own.

Bad move to apply for a bogus WP, especially if you plan to apply for citizenship in the future.

Social security can be continued after losing employment. Just go to the social security office within 6 month after losing your job and you will pay less than 500 baht a month to keep the health insurance.

Yeah thought as much, thanks guys for confirming my fears about this matter. Surely a fraudulent practice.

Agencies offering these service have been around, in LOS, for many years.

It's been mentioned before that they are legal, but (as mentioned by the OP) their many fees and commissions yearly and monthly are totally outrageous.

Good luck to find a job where the employer sponsors you to get a WP - normal situation.

There is a company called Iglu that will 'hire' you if you are an IT person that can generate your own income, what they do is they let you use their billing system to invoice your clients and they take a fairly large chunk of your receivable as their payment for the service.

In return you are listed as an employee and have a full WP etc

At least that is my understanding of how they work.

Looks like from previous comments this is the company that got busted by immigration for sponsoring fake employees but thanks for the suggestion
