50 mcg Clenil steroid asthma inhaler discontinued in Thailand

Featured Replies

Clenil is an inhaler delivering Beclomethasone used for asthma maintenance/prevention. It is NOT a rescue medication. It is meant to be used daily.

Unfortunately I have been informed that the 50 mcg Clenil has been discontinued in Thailand, but I think the 250 mcg dose will still be available.

So I was looking for a replacement Beclomethasone in a lower dose and I came across Qvar which seems to be available in Thailand although I don't recall seeing it. They have a choice of delivery systems, one regular and one "auto" whatever that's supposed to mean. If there is Qvar in Thailand a 50 mcg version does exist but not necessarily in Thailand.

So I'm wondering if it's really true that Qvar is available in Thailand. I haven't checked pharmacists yet but might as well ask here first.

It doesn't answer your question about where to find that inhaler, but I have used Symbicort for years and it has worked a dream - no need for Ventolin at all.

Ovar brand is not available here but the following brands are and same thing:

Beclomet Nasal Aqua - comes in 50mcg and 100mcg dose. Distributoir is Harn Thai.

Beconase Aqueous  - 50 mcg. Expensive imprt, distrubutor is Zuellig

Bemase 50 mcg (Indian made) - distributor is Thitiratsanon  https://www.ttnco.co.th/ติดต่อเรา/58dc8c0d1130c40001db4922
