Anti-Myanmar hate speech flares in Thailand over virus

Many don't understand the hatred that can stay for centuries between countries after years of war. Check your Thai Burmese history.

As a Scot, I understand and was disgusted by Prince Charles breaking the rules and coming to Scotland with Covid.

They sold out their culture to the mighty Baht.

There's no real culture left in Thailand, just a few corrupt temples with plastic effigies.

Prostitution, corruption, scams, pollution, racism.....i miss the thailand I first came to love.  But its gone now and will never return.

Sad to see a nation i loved and respected disapear into the swamp of despair.

Much the same as 30 years ago.

What county are you from, that didn't have prostitutes, corruption, scams, racism?

Did anyone see the news about "South Korea confirms Covid-19 outbreak in 32 Thai workers, 28 others awaiting results"???? So now it's the Thais in other countries spreading their filth, I'm only being facetious here but really when will people learn we can all get this <deleted><deleted> virus? I personally believe the thing is way overblown with this mortality rate given the fact that I'm in a location where I've seen several thousand people that were infected but not 1 single death occurred.

1. Thailand would cease to function tomorrow, without these migrant workers. Just like America would cease to function without Mexican workers.

2. Xenophobia is rampant here, moreso among the highly toxic army and administration, than amongst the average person.

3. Xenophobia also exists in many other nations. Just look at the orange variety in Washington.

4. It is likely these racist clowns represent a small percentage of Thais. Not to say the Burmese are loved here. But, extreme hatred is another thing altogether.

5. The Burmese deserve alot of credit. They work hard, for less money, and generally speaking, they do not cause problems for Thailand.

6. The army, navy and immigration, are largely to blame for this. This could likely have been avoided.

Heads should roll over this, but it is likely they won't. Prayuth should resign over this. If he had any pride.

No money in pride

Must have been Burmese posing as Thai's as Thai's don't get or transmit covid 19
