The Thai army suspect most illegal workers entered Thailand by sea. The royal navy is now increasing security along coastal and maritime borders in Ranong province.

Royal Thai Armed Forces spokesperson, Lt Gen Chaowalit Sangkarit, asked the public to understand that all officials do their best, but the smuggling networks always find loopholes.

Chaowalit said the supreme commander, General Chalermpol Srisawasdi, has ordered every unit to be very strict in enforcing anti-COVID preventive measures and to cancel all social activities during the outbreak.

And that loophole's name is Somchai Bigpockets!

Stop 'suspecting' 100% that they did, and even if they had to strap themselves with helium filled balloons in order to come here they would...

Could they have tunnelled their way in? I have a sneaking suspicion they rode in in the back of a Thai pickup!

The border near Aye Chan Thar Yar in Myanmar is wide open, if you can swim a short distance over the upper Kra river you are in Thailand. Almost impossible to close off the border so no illegal immigrants can enter Thailand.

And "all officials do their best", for sure, the question is, at what do they do their best?

A river? That must be the fault of the navy again, as the army have tried to claim already.

Took a while, but they got there in the end.

If only Thailand had submarines....

In other news: Thai Navy suspects they walked in.

Aha so its the Navys fault then, I see !

And I suspect that the Burmese came across in trucks driven by Thais while the govt was busy spraying toxic chemicals on 16yo students. Borders were a low priority

Negotiate a fee then turn a blind eye?

Where are those expensive submarines when you need them?

Does it matter, commissions have been long sorted!

Just had a look at Google maps. Helluva trip to reach Bangkok by sea from Myanmar. Around Singapore?

You never know, someone might believe them! You'd come to Ranong long before Singapore, have a closer look! A ride from Ranong to Bkk is easy, plenty of enablers!
