Government House on alert after 6 officials test positive

My question would also be, since now the reports are being denied and then not positive, which test are they using, and of whose manufacture.  Or are they that scared to actually admit officials have the virus, which would weaken the governments claim to have it under control.  Please tell us who these 6 officials are and then lets see if they disappear from sight for the next 14 days or so before you hear from them again as they are either quarantined or isolated in a ward.  Not sure we may never know, just like "How many licks does it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie pop, the world may never know".

I'm not an economist, but aren't the comparative GDP growth rates in the table making his point for him? Did you read your own chart? ????

you are not a mathematician either obviously.
An extra 3% growth on half as much.

The saliva quick test is an antigen test. 6 out of 300 is 2%, which is about the false positive rate. So, these are likely false positives.

Not sure which worries me more. Them testing positive, or not knowing they didn't.

Most of those 1.7 million would be dead now anyway, especially if they had caught the normal flu

Governments are to blame for livelihoods being destroyed, not the disease

Yawn!  Same old idiocy.

This and other recent events such as the racism against Burmese and the protests about the covid field hospital have dealt crushing blows to the farangs that have been crowing about how superior Thais are to westerners.

This massive loss of face has predictably resulted in some of these farangs lashing out in anger or attempting to deflect the topic to western countries in silly attempts at whattaboutism in recent threads

Don't be surprised if some new usernames suspiciously start showing up in the next few days as some of these farangs try to reinvent themselves after this public humiliation.

What is all this speculation supposed to be about?

Only you are playing this silly game!

China is to blame. Let's keep our eyes on the ball. Let's not forget so soon who has destroyed all these lives by lying and covering up and knowingly sending its sick citizens all over the world.

We'll hit them back hard. It's already happening. Virtually every country is isolating them. Thankfully all their Asian neighbors also hate them. The isolation will likely lead to military conflict, so we need to be ready for that.

Totally way out in all respects.

Once again, random testing is finding infections.

This has been the case the entire time. Thailand did not beat the virus, they just didn’t test for it and it’s not killing them that we’re aware of. Weaker strain perhaps or poorly reported deaths that didn’t get an autopsy.

Yaaaawn!

You are deflecting which is an indication that I have won the argument. Have a pleasant day. No hard feelings. Maybe you will win one soon. ????

No one is bothering to argue with you, so you cannot have won.

Its always been out there but testing has hardly been vigorous.

So, did they catch it recently or have they had it long enough to spread to friends and family.

Time will tell, a few wives & Mia Nois sweating I bet.

Asian neighbours may hate them, but if he controls their economy there's diddly-squat they can do about it.

Six officials in the Prime Minister’s Office at Government House have tested positive for Covid-19 after random screening of its 700 staff.

That equates - if rolled out - to about 670,000 Thais (excluding the Myanmar plague bearers) having the virus currently then - no wonder they don't want to test the public in mass.

Another one.
So you are claiming the Samut Sakon or Chiang Rai outbreak didn’t come from Burma or the Burmese workers?

Could it be the Thai's who jumped the border and scattered, it was them i believe worked also in the " the house they called the rising sun" and may well have found a person or too to spread whatever.

The Chinese didn’t deliberately catch coronavirus from animals at a meat market. But when they did they acted swiftly and effectively to limit it. They were not negligent with their handling of it and despite repeated fake claims they did actually warn that it was highly infectious. Wuhan is back to normal.

Now let us not mention the proximity of a virology research laboratory complex (with, one hears a less than stellar "biosecurity" record) to the epicenter of the outbreak.

If we talk about waging war, the Chinese have never (in recent decades) done so - but then they have not until recently had the armed forces to do so. They do now. If, as some claim, Vietnam is taking a significant proportion of China's foreign investment and foreign owned manufacturing industry, then we may see Chinese "ownership' and de facto control of the South China Sea become a bit more than thumbing their nose at the US Navy. There is little point in having a booming export manufacturing sector if you cannot ship the products...

I think - saddest of all - they had a good chance to spread it on all the poor foreigners who subsequently got the title "Dirty Farang"...
