Scooter Recommendations

Featured Replies

Hi there

I am going to be purchasing a brand new scooter in the coming weeks and am just looking for recommendation on brands models as I don't have a clue really. Think I'll get either a Suzuki or Honda and am looking for something clutchless but not automatic gears.

Something "powerful" or tuned (i.e. sports model) would be good too and some space under the seat for a helmet or whatever would be good.

Anyone got any recommendations on whether I should Honda or Suzuki or specific models?

Thanks

  • 1 month later...

I have a Honda Click which is reliable, comfortable and reasonably powerful with a 110 cc engine. I also have Yamaha Fino which looks great with its classic Italian styling but sounds a bit like an old bus.

I toyed with buying a Suzuki Step. They are a little more powerful with a 125 engine. I also noticed the more expensive models have plenty of space under the seat.

Good luck!

You can't go wrong with a Honda. I suggest the Wave 125i (maybe got a newer model now). Clutchless, with 4 gears, front disc, space under the seat. Great bike.

I like my Tiger Joker (no longer made I think..... I also think I may be the ONLY one that likes them!)

but the Tiger bikes sit a lottle higher and are more comfortable for a taller guy to ride.

They are not auto , have no clutch and look great! First and foremost though it was the height of the seat and comfort of sitting the bike that helped me decide on this one

Honda Air Blade, it has what you want, space under the seat, sporty looks and performance, however IS twist and go and expensive :o

I second the Honda 125i wave recommendation. It's an excellent machine.

And I third the Honda 125i wave. Plenty of (relative) power and starts the first time, every time.

I fourth the Honda Wave 125i.

I've had an original model 125i and it has never let me down. Fuel injection not only makes the bike start first time, every time, but, it also uses considerably less fuel than the other Honda Wave 125's.
