Clearly not serious....... as i have stated a thousand times before, Thailands Illusion of Covid containment is based on absolutely minimal testing and even now no information of numbers tested daily and where is forthcoming.

I remain dumbfounded  that some otherwise intelligent people choose to congratulate them on this covid management based on a no test no have policy.

maybe they are testing but hiding the figures, seems like the case today

I understand, but until now, there's been no over crowded hospitals. None. Compare that to the West. Thailand gets a gold star.

To All Moaners and <deleted>

Look further then nose length.

And count your blessings that you were allowed to stay in Thailand during this disastrous time.

I suspect a high percentage of complainers are of US and UK nationality.

Your country is beckoning for you!

In many ways a one-way ticket

flying home isn't an option for some, as many living here are convicts and paedophiles (though most tend to be from Australia, they certainly arn't here for the nicer climate)

I suspect a high percentage are not actually in Thailand; rather hunkered down in their Luton bedsit or trailer park in Schitsville, desperately wishing they were.

Did not know they carry the Corona virus

If a mosquito hits a person with Covid and gives you a bite, I would almost certainly receive Covid through his blood from the contaminated person, now nobody knows for sure but it is very likely that mosquitoes also carry the virus

Almost certainly not possible according to research.

What are your academic qualifications? Because is sounds like you are a retired taxi driver from the east end of London.

Hospitalisations and deaths CANNOY be hidden. Did you know for many months anyone needing surgery was given a covid test?

Testin here is done based on need. There is no need for mass testing as the situation has not been out of control (unlike the US and UK).

It would have been convenient for the govt having a case here and there as it would be an easy way to shut down the street protests. As you say, even if they could hide hospitalisations and deaths why would they?

Can somebody explain what's going on with the migrant worker numbers? Until two days ago, they didn't seem to be including them in the national totals. Then suddenly 557 cases appeared out of the blue yesterday followed by another 439 today. I'd assumed that the 557 included all the migrant worker cases they hadn't included from the week before, but if that's the case where did the 439 today come from? Or were there zero migrant worker cases for a week and then suddenly over 500 appear from nowhere, followed by over 400? None of this makes any sense.

I'm not even sure the number relates to the SS migrant workers. There were a few days of low numbers which can't very well have come from SS (so why report them separately? No idea). I don't know what the cause of the backlog on the SS numbers was, but I'm not sure we can assume it would all be cleared in one day.

Covid just arrived in our condo located in bang khae. What will happen next? Do we have to quarantine? Police will come to check us with covid test?

The condo office will probably work with the authorities to help trace people with  exposure to the case. They or the authorities would notify anyone that needs to self quarantine, or if you have reason to worry that you may have been exposed, you can also self quarantine.

You can also call their number and ask. I would take the warning about the lift seriously. Wear a good mask, don't touch anything, use a pen or key to press buttons. Wash your hands when you get out.

In the first wave, my condo had foot prints in the lift to instruct you what direction to face.  We also have a line app for condo announcements. Sign up if they have one. Office will know.

Take zinc.

Here is Thailand's COVID tracker. https://covidtracker.5lab.co/en

There is a mark not far from you but from 16 days ago.

Don't believe those who keep saying Thai don't know what they are doing.

What scares me about this more thah than the lack of testing, is that the P Minister's "Watchman" declared all the illegal gambling dens in Bangkok had been shut down (according to the BP unnamed news).  "All the gambling dens have been shut down."  Really--as my eloquent Brit friends would say-- 'When pigs fly!'

Covid just arrived at the Mooban I live in.  2 sois down from us.  A family had some friends visiting from Kanchanaburi that were infected.  No one even told anyone around here about it.  A freind of ours called when she heard about it.

OMG, really?  Really?

What in the living heck are they doing?  This thing is primarily passed by airborne particulates.  I guess if you're a filthy animal and touch plants and pick your nose afterwards there is a chance...

Maybe they can just burn the whole neighbourhood down?

On first impression that info looks to be too far behind the times to be of any real use. The two Japanese guys who tested positive in Chiang Mai on 1 Jan are not shown, for example. Out of date info can give people a false sense of security.

Seems more like the guy in our neighborhood who comes spraying against mosquitoes when there is a confirmed dengue case nearby, then the equipment they use to disinfect against sars-cov2 to be honest.

I also noticed times shown when you press the icon are not right. One said 21 days ago but when I pressed the news link, then news was from Dec 29, 7 days ago.

Another icon said 8 days ago, linked to news was from Jan 3.

Another icon said 9 days ago, linked to news from yesterday. Jan 4.

There are several recent ones. Its an app that feeds off the news, so might not be complete.

"can give people a false sense of security."

Boy, are you in the wrong country. ????

I suppose the next step is to strip naked and bathe in hand sanitizer.  That will make you pure.

I guess the government will interpret the drop of over 200 in positive cases as having control over the virus! Meaningless figures without the number of tests conducted!

???? Based on the figures presented, it does not appear that the testing has started yet ...
