BANGKOK(NNT) - Travellers from provinces are still returning to Bangkok, while some bus terminals saw fewer passengers due to COVID-19 concerns.

At Trang Bus Terminal, people have been using buses to return to Bangkok. However, there were also fewer people using public transport. There were empty seats on almost every trip, due to concerns over COVID-19 which led to people using more private vehicles.

The measures at the terminal have also been strengthened, in order to ensure the safety of all. Both passengers and workers are required to wear a face mask at all times. Before getting on the bus, everyone will also have their temperature taken.

Other safety measures, such as blood alcohol level tests on drivers and a bus speed tracking system, have also been implemented to reduce road accidents.

The terminal officer revealed that there were more people expected to use the bus, but with the outbreak, many of them refunded or used private vehicles.

Previously, the outbreak also made Trang’s New Year Festival less enjoyable than the province expected as travellers canceled their plans.

I would have thought that would be standard procedure regardless of any virus .........
