Popular Post webfact
Restrictions could be eased in Bangkok within the next two weeks REUTERS FILE PHOTO for reference only The restrictions put in place to help limit the spread of COVID-19 could be eased within the next two weeks, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) said on Monday. According to BMA spokesperson Pongsakon Kwanmuang consideration will be given to easing the restrictions if the number of new cases drops and if clusters in nearby provinces can be controlled. Two clusters - one in Bangkok and one in Sri Racha - were still a cause for concern, Mr Pongsakon said, adding that infections linked to both are being closely monitored and those who have been in contact with infected people were being traced. The possibility of easing restrictions in the capital comes as neighbouring Samut Prakan province on Monday announced it was ramping up its restrictions. The province is now under the highest level of restrictions with people only able to travel outside of the province if they can prove their trip is essential. Checkpoints will be set up in the province monitoring people travelling in and out, governor Wanchai Khongkasem said. On Tuesday, Thailand reported 287 new COVID-19 infections, with 278 being local transmissions. Of the new cases, 176 were found in Samut Sakhon, 33 in Bangkok, 15 in Chonburi and 12 in Samut Prakan. Rayong and Ang Thong reported 9 and 8 cases, respectively. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-01-12 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 4 1

Popular Post Kaopad999
It's honestly so heartwarming for me to know that i'm living in a country that understands the basic fundamentals on how to successfully control the spread of this virus. And most of all, thank you so much to the Thai people who really put huge effort into social distancing, mask wearing, and providing hand sanitizer in all of he stores & shopping malls. It really goes to show that Thailand has a real community spirit, where everyone gets together and contributes by helping out each other. Popular Post brewsterbudgen
At least re-open schools! The so-called restrictions in Bangkok are minimal - shops/department stores, public transport, restaurants are operating mostly as normal (apart from the 9pm cut-off for eating in, and no alcohol) and social-distancing is pretty much forgotten. But closing schools is a major inconvenience and has a huge impact on children (and parents!). 7 1 2

Well, everyone is welcome to their own opinions , but I do wonder if these people even live here in Thailand, or maybe they just feel the need to have a good moan? Either way it will never change my perspective & positive outlook on Thailand & it's fantastic people. charmonman
So I’m in an ASQ in Samut Prakan near the airport. Surely they are not restricting travel from Samut Prakan into Bangkok, are they? I mean the airport is in Samut Prakan. The BTS runs between Bangkok and Samut Prakan. There has to be thousands of roads running between Samut Prakan and Bangkok. Have they thought this through? I simply want to go from my ASQ to the place I will be renting in Bangkok.

I am now in my 19th consecutive year of actually living here. With different experiences in many areas of Thailand I conclude that I am very much happy here. Those matters including Government, driving my car and riding my bike, corona virus, the Thai people and many other aspects of Thai living are well within my tolerance levels and acceptance. I do not court problems and trouble so I get very little of it. 4

Yes, there are of course things here that bother me, which other people experience i'm sure. But for me, the positives of living here heavily outweigh the negatives. 3

Yes, Kao Pad, But the negatives are mostly outside of our control. When I am unable to change that, there is only one thing I can do, and that is to control and manage my personal perspective of it. Not allow it too much personal importance - accept it and move on! I understand that some have a passion for wanting some things to be very different but there is no way they can do anything to change it so why waste time on it (making no progress) at the expense of something else that could advance their situation?

Guderian
Outside of Samut Sakhon, many of the new cases in recent days have been in Bangkok and its surrounding provinces. There were 31 cases reported in Bangkok in today's numbers, for example, compared with a mere 20 in Chonburi. The guy shouldn't be saying that restrictions will be eased soon, he should be asking why Bangkok isn't already in a red zone,l with all the extra restrictions that implies? However, just because the virus does not seriously impact on these children, doesn't mean they are not carriers and spreaders of said virus. Spellforce
@charmonman And for those who are thinking that Thailand is not doing enough PCR tests, there is something they can be sure 100%: the figures of "hospitalized people". One week ago there were 4,800 hospitalized people, and today only 4,035: (same source)
