No always been 6pm for me, and I'll wait, it might be 5:50pm and I'm ready to start but I'll wait 10 minutes. I don't drink 2 days running either, always have 1 or 2 days off. Just my set of rules to stop me sliding down that slippery slope. ????

Exact same routine myself.  Unless it's a birthday, special day out then not before 6. I resist going to restaurants during the day as a cold beer when it's 38 degrees would be too tempting.

When I was working in London, our managers used to take us out for champagne breakfasts. I remember one at Claridges that involved jugs of Margaritas along with smoked salmon Kedgaree (although Bucks fizz with Bagels and Lox breakfasts were more frequent).

Although now I'm older, I rarely drink before 10am.

Sounds like you were in a similar profession to myself as the company I worked for had the managers take us out for breakfast too. We were in the Northern branch though so it was a pint of bitter and pork pies for us.
