Exclusive: U.S. mulls using law designed to prosecute Mafia against Capitol rioters

As I mentioned the current U.S. law isn't nearly robust and specific enough to target the real and present danger of domestic terrorism. That's why the prosecutors of all of the alleged criminals that planned, incited, and carried out the domestic terrorist insurrection at the Capitol need to be somewhat creative in how to pursue charges.

Hopefully the current congress will be able to address this legal problem soon:

Members call for new laws to fight domestic terrorism as experts warn it will plague the country for the next ’10 to 20 years’

By Karoun Demirjian

The Democratic chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee said Thursday that he was confident that Congress would pass new laws to address domestic terrorism in the wake of the Capitol riot, as experts warned that the country would be wrestling with such internal threats for decades to come.

Elizabeth Neumann, a former assistant secretary of homeland security for counterterrorism during the Trump administration, warned lawmakers that there is a “high likelihood” that another domestic terrorist attack would occur in the coming months and that the problem would persist “for the next 10 to 20 years.”

She and other experts encouraged lawmakers to take steps to address that threat by giving prosecutors and regulators new tools to address it, both in the courts and in the online communities where extremist ideas are often exchanged.

The U.S govt. is one huge 'Joke' ,going after a small group of 'Right wingers' and do nothing about all the rioting ,burning buildings, and looting of the 'Far Left', antifa and blm, the whole world DON'T have blinkers over there eyes and can see what's going on. The Rico act was designed for the 'Mafia' and should only be used for them,so let's not B.S the world Biden as you do to mostly everything else and try and be fair.

The whole world! Wow! ????

for some there were also violence against people and police officers... all offenses together would surely land them in jail for a year or two?

and for all the other passive followers, what would be an adequate sentence in your opinion?

For all the people who trepassed, take away their right to vote!

Every single one of the people who broke into the Capital building, were at the very least, trespassers and they have to all be charged with at least that crime. They should have their passports revoked, so at least they cannot leave the USA for any reason.  It may take many months to charge them all, but so be it.  The ones that broke anything should have many additional charges. The ones who were shouting to kill someone or harm some one, or did harm  any of the guards or staff, or law and military, should get more additional charges.  All of their faces should be shown on TV to maybe put some shame on them for what they were doing, as not one of them were heroes of any type.  They are all losers and criminals who broke into a government building.    Trump should be held responsible for inciting them all as well.  His supporters should  be all ashamed for continuing to support him at all after this even if he did some  better things in the start of his time as a politician. His shameful ending, should just be that, a final ending. That is my opinion anyway.

Geezer
